The latest EU zone expansion from LSM for you;
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announces the launch of two new divisions in Italy – energy & construction, and cyber – to meet growing demand in the region. The launches are supported by two senior underwriter appointments in Milan to manage the new divisions, expand LSM’s offering in Italy and promote cross-selling between business lines.
The energy & construction division offers specialty products and services to energy industries, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation and renewables, and to a broad range of construction projects as well as annual contractor programmes. To establish the division in Italy, LSM appointed Alessandro Tomassi as senior underwriter. He will manage the energy and construction division in Italy. Tomassi reports to Antonio Sacchi, general manager, Italy, Sean Pearson, European line of business manager and regional product leader, construction, and Didier Robin, European line of business manager, energy.
The cyber division offers a full suite of cyber solutions to protect businesses from a range of non-physical risks, including cyber perils, and technology and media errors and omissions. Mauro Marongiu joins as senior underwriter to develop and manage the cyber division. Marongiu will be responsible for managing the cyber division in Italy. He reports to Sacchi and Oliver Delvos, head of cyber and tech, Europe.
Sacchi said: “The launch of the energy and construction and cyber divisions in Italy, mark an important milestone in the development of our activities in this strategic market. This local presence will allow us to strengthen our proximity to customers and partners and to support their complex projects even more effectively. Alessandro and Mauro’s strong local expertise will help develop our capabilities in structuring our energy, construction and cyber presence in the Italian market.”
LSM has a growing presence in Italy with more than 50 employees across offices in Milan and Rome. The launch of the energy & construction and cyber lines in Italy and the two local appointments are a key step in Liberty achieving its Invest in Europe 2030 objective: to be a long-term, supportive partner for insureds and partners across the continent.
Tomassi joins LSM with almost 18 years of experience underwriting energy and construction lines at Allianz. Marongiu spent seven years in cyber underwriting positions at MGAs, most recently at RiskPoint and brings six years of experience as a cyber specialist in Italy.
