Senior brokers Mel Franke and Ciara Curran have acquired the Coversure Teddington book of business from the current, and retiring, franchisee Philip Macdonald. The two women, who have been long-standing members of the Coversure Network operation have made the move to ownership after nine and seven years respectively at the brokerage.
Coversure Teddington, which was established in 1978 specialises in providing insurance and advice to local businesses, tradespeople, shop owners and landlords.
The pair’s transition reflects the natural lifecycle within the Coversure Network, where experienced insurance professionals are empowered to step into enterprise for themselves, backed by the strength, infrastructure, and support of the national brand.
Mel and Ciara have been integral to the success of the Teddington operation over the last few years and have built trusted relationships with clients and contributed to the branch’s ongoing performance. The move into book ownership represents not only personal career progression but also the effectiveness of the Coversure model in nurturing talent and enabling entrepreneurial development from within.
As a franchise network, Coversure has long championed the importance of empowering people to build and grow their own businesses while retaining the local expertise and personal service that underpin the brand.
Jordan Maskel, Network Director, commented:
“Supporting internal transitions such as Mel and Ciara’s helps protect the continuity of service for Coversure customers while keeping knowledge, experience, and relationships exactly where they belong. We look forward to seeing Mel and Ciara continue to develop the Teddington book under their leadership, with the full support of the network behind them”.
Mel Franke, commented:
“Ciara and I are incredibly proud to be taking on the Coversure Teddington book. Having worked within the operation for several years, we’ve built strong relationships with our customers and understand what makes this book so special. Stepping into ownership is a natural next step for us, and we’re grateful for the backing and guidance the Coversure network provides.”
