LIBERTY SPECIALTY MARKETS

Liberty Specialty Markets (Liberty), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Demmon to the newly created position of property divisional director, effective from 19th March 2026. Based in London, Demmon will report to Henry Nelson, CUO and active underwriter, UK and MENA.

Demmon’s new position sees him take responsibility for the UK Commercial and D&F International portfolios. Demmon will run the integrated business unit, overseeing the development and delivery of the underwriting strategy, in addition to managing the strategic goals for Liberty’s UK and MENA property divisions.

His wealth of knowledge in the London market will be invaluable in providing direction and priorities as Liberty expands and strengthens its international property offering”

BPL

 BPL, the world’s leading independent credit and political risk insurance (CPRI) broker, has appointed Edouard Huberdeau as Director, as part of its continued expansion of its global capabilities.

At BPL, Edouard will be working across the Geneva and Paris offices to develop tailored solutions for existing clients across the credit insurance spectrum, including surety. He will also use his 25 years of experience to bear in advising new clients operating in Europe and within the commodities sector on how they can apply credit insurance for both risk management and capital efficiency.

Edouard’s most recent role prior to moving to BPL was as Chief Financial Officer at Alvean Sugar SL, the world’s largest sugar trading company, where he was responsible for financing strategy, risk management and financial transformation.

LIBERTY BLUME

Liberty Global’s (NASDAQ: LBTYA, LBTYB, and LBTYK) tech-enabled back-office solutions provider, Liberty Blume, has announced the appointment of Ian Larkin as Chief Executive Officer to lead the next phase of the company’s growth. Larkin brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across consultancy, financial services, technology, and global operations.

He most recently served as CEO of TopSource Worldwide, a global provider of employment solutions. Liberty Blume was launched by Liberty Global at the end of 2024 and offers a range of outsourced back-office functions to improve business efficiency. It forms a key part of Liberty Growth, which invests in scalable businesses across the technology, media, sports, infrastructure and services sectors.

OAK GLOBAL

OAK Global, a leading risk partner, announces the appointment of James Irvine and Roland Morse to new expanded roles within the business, subject to regulatory approval.
James Irvine becomes Active Underwriter for Syndicate 2843. His title changes to CUO, OAK Reinsurance & Active Underwriter Syndicate 2843.
Roland Morse becomes Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1440. His title changes to CUO, OAK Enterprise & Active Underwriter Syndicate 1440.
Irvine and Morse will continue to report to Cathal Carr, OAK Global’s Founder, CEO and Group CUO.

SILVERLAKE RECYCLING

Silverlake Automotive Recycling is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Joslin as a director, bringing over three decades of industry experience to support the company’s strategic growth plans and further enhance service for valued partners and customers nationwide.

Neil joins Silverlake following an impressive career in the insurance and vehicle recycling sectors.  He has spent over 30 years in senior claims management roles within the insurance industry, and the last eight years in the vehicle recycling industry, including leadership positions as COO at e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management and Charles Trent.  Neil is known for driving operational excellence through a powerful combination of outstanding people leadership and innovative technology, always placing customers at the heart of business strategy.

Possessing strong commercial acumen, deep industry expertise, and a broad skill set, Neil will work closely with the Silverlake management team to refine existing processes and spearhead the development of services, listening to and anticipating market needs.  Growth will be phased and further reinforce Silverlake’s reputation for delivering exceptional service and value.

VERISK

 Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, today announced the formation of Verisk General Insurance UK & Ireland. This makes it easier for clients to discover the company’s robust offerings across underwriting, claims and policy administration solutions to support more informed and data-driven decision making across the insurance market.

Chris Sawford has been appointed Managing Director, Verisk General Insurance UK & Ireland, effective immediately. He oversees the business – which brings together International Underwriting, Property and Risk (IUPR)Claims UK, and Ignite. This new structure is designed to strengthen connectivity across the insurance industry and deepen collaboration with insurers as they navigate an increasingly complex risk environment.

Sawford previously led Verisk’s Claims UK business, working closely with insurers to address operational challenges and support industry-wide efforts to advance claims practices and decision making. Sawford co-founded Validus-IVC, a top provider of claims management solutions in the UK, which Verisk acquired in 2018.

MARKEL

Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), is building on its UK broker distribution and change capability with two senior appointments. This expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to investing in talent and ensures Markel is fully equipped to deliver consistently high levels of service, as it pursues its long‑term growth ambitions in the UK retail market.

Joanne Foreman has been appointed Head of Broker Change and will be based in Manchester. She joins Markel from AXA, where she played a significant role in optimising broker-related processes and interactions. At Markel, she will oversee transformational initiatives across broker touchpoints, ensuring operational changes are implemented to improve the broker experience and ease of trading.

Laura Fox has been appointed Head of Distribution Strategy, based in Leeds. Formerly Distribution Development Director at RSA, Fox will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, proposition and compliance of broker distribution channels.

Foreman and Fox join Charlotte Harrison, who has recently been promoted internally to Head of Strategic Sales and Relationships. Harrison joined Markel in 2024 as Head of Regional Broker Development and has quickly established herself as a key leader within the distribution function. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading and managing the distribution team and key external relationships. Together, the three form part of a strengthened senior broker team reporting to Jo Sykes, Divisional Director – Broker.

GUY CARPENTER

Guy Carpenter, a business of Marsh (NYSE: MRSH) and a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, has announced the appointment of Ian Bartholomew PhD as Global Head of Parametric Advisory, effective June 1, 2026. Based in London, he will report to David Lightfoot, Managing Director, Global Analytics and Advisory, Guy Carpenter.

In this role, Dr. Bartholomew will work closely with the broking team to drive growth in this emerging area delivering robust parametric solutions for clients. He joins Guy Carpenter from FloodFlash, a pioneer in parametric flood insurance, where he was Co-Founder and Chief Underwriting Officer. Before founding FloodFlash in 2017, Dr. Bartholomew was a senior consultant in the capital markets advisory team at Moody’s RMS for five years.
