QBE

Global insurer QBE has named Reuben Lee as Transactional Liability (TLI) Underwriter for Asia.

Reuben is an M&A and transactional risk insurance specialist with a legal background. He joins from Willis Towers Watson (WTW), where he served as Broking Director leading M&A risk advisory mandates across Singapore, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

Prior to WTW, Reuben was a Senior Underwriter at Ryan Transactional Risk. He was also responsible for setting up the Singapore office and leading the Asia offering for Transact Risk Partners (trading name for Castel Underwriting Agencies Limited) prior to the acquisition of Castel by Ryan Transactional Risk.

RENEW RISK

Renew Risk, the leading provider of risk analytics for renewable energy assets, has named Dr Joshua Macabuag as its CEO. 

As one of the company’s co-founders and previously serving as Chief Product Officer, Josh has played a central role in shaping Renew Risk since its formation in 2021. He brings deep catastrophe risk modelling and industry expertise to the role, with previous roles at several (re)insurers, The World Bank, and University College London.

Alongside his work, Josh has spent 14 years responding to major disasters around the world as a volunteer Urban Search & Rescue Engineer for SARAID – service for which he was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2025.

TMK

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), a leading specialist insurer, today announces the appointment of Francesca Kevill as Underwriter within its Cyber & Enterprise Risk team. She takes up her new role with immediate effect and will report to Ellie Webb, Head of Delegated Cyber & IP.

Kevill brings a rare blend of cyber underwriting experience spanning both the London and Asia Pacific markets. Most recently, she served as Cyber Underwriter at Tokio Marine Australia, where she established and managed the delegated cyber book, leading on pricing, underwriting guidelines, processes, and the implementation of new API capabilities. She also contributed to the creation of a cyber governance framework and supported the underwriting of large-account risks. Prior to this, she held a cyber underwriting role at TMK in London, where she helped grow both the delegated and open market portfolios.

LIBERTY SPECIALTY MARKETS

Liberty Specialty Markets (Liberty), part of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announces the appointment of Ettore Palma to the newly created role of Broker Relationship Manager, with immediate effect. Based in the recently opened Rome office, Palma will report to Simone Jurina, Head of Distribution, Italy.

Liberty has a strong presence in Italy, with offices in Milan and Rome and more than 60 employees. In this new position, Palma will be responsible for expanding Liberty’s footprint in Italy by developing business across the central and southern regions of the country. He will also manage and strengthen existing relationships, as well as building new partnerships with brokers and intermediaries.

He is highly regarded in the industry, and his extensive knowledge and experience working with insurers and intermediaries will be a great asset as we continue to grow our presence in Italy. LEGAL AND GENERAL

L&G has announced the appointment of Sarah Spooner to the newly created role of Chief Customer Officer (CCO), strengthening its commitment to delivering an outstanding and seamless experience for customers and clients across its Retail and Institutional Retirement businesses.

The new role brings together responsibility for customer and client service across both business areas for the first time. This reflects L&G’s strategy to create a better-connected, consistent experience for the 12 million Retail customers and 700,000 Institutional Retirement customers L&G supports. By aligning operations, digital capabilities, and service models across these areas, L&G will build on its already strong foundations and further enhance the quality, responsiveness, and reliability of its service.

WESTFIELD SPECIALTY

Westfield Specialty International has promoted Katie MacGregor to COO, reflecting her long-standing leadership as Head of Claims for the last decade and her central role in the organisation’s success. Her appointment is effective immediately and she will report directly to Anthony Baldwin, President, Westfield Specialty International.
In her new role as COO, Katie will lead operational functions across the international business — covering UK, Middle East and Europe — working closely with senior leadership to support strategic growth plans across these markets.

AXA XL

AXA XL has appointed Michael Reynolds as Head of Marine, UK & Lloyd’s and Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Hull. Based in London, he starts his role in Q3 2026.  

Mr. Reynolds will be responsible for developing, executing and managing the underwriting strategy for the UK & Lloyd’s Marine business as well as setting and overseeing the strategy for the Global Hull book of business.

Commenting on his appointment, Louise Nevill, Chief Underwriting Officer Specialty, UK & Lloyd’s at AXA XL said: “Michael is an experienced leader, with technical acumen and the strategic and operational skills to ensure thoughtful and profitable growth across our marine business. He is very well thought of in the market, we look forward to him joining and further enhancing the high-quality products and services we offer to clients and brokers.”

CONVEX GROUP

Convex Group Limited (“Convex”), the international specialty insurer and reinsurer, today announces that Stephen Catlin has decided to stand down as Chairman of the Board. He will remain a director and has been elevated to the honorary title of Founder and Life President to reflect his meaningful contribution to Convex since its inception.

As Founder and Life President, Stephen will continue to provide strategic counsel to the Board and mentorship to the executive leadership team, serve as an ambassador for the company’s global initiatives, and steward its long-term mission and values. He will also remain actively involved in philanthropic and industry partnerships that reflect Convex’s values.

Bobby Le Blanc, a Director of the Board of Convex since its formation in 2019 and CEO of majority shareholder Onex has been appointed Chairman.

CANOPIUS

Canopius, a leading international specialty and P&C (re)insurer, has announced two senior appointments: Dan Bridges as Head of Claims, Bermuda and Global Head of Reinsurance Claims, and Patrick Cannon as Global Head of Cyber Claims.

Dan will be based in Bermuda and brings more than two decades of London Market experience. He joins from SCOR P&C, where he spent six years as Head of UK and MEA Treaty Claims. His previous roles include Head of Claims at Pioneer Underwriters and Head of Reinsurance Claims at Markel.

Patrick will be based in London and joins from Onda, where he served as Chief Claims Officer for two years. He brings over twenty years of experience, having held senior claims positions at Marsh and Tokio Marine Kiln.

These appointments further demonstrate Canopius’ commitment to delivering claims excellence globally. Dan and Patrick will join the business in August and May respectively.

FEDERATO

Martin joins Qlaims after 14 years at Arc Legal Assistance, where he held a senior role within the commercial division. During his tenure, he helped shape the firm’s commercial strategy and managed key relationships across its distribution network.

ARCH

Arch Insurance UK Regional Division has announced the appointment of Henry Tinworth as Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter, effective immediately. 

In this role, Tinworth is responsible for driving new business development across the property and casualty portfolio with a regional focus on the north. Based in Leeds, he reports to Martin Cleary, Leeds Branch Manager.

Bringing over 10 years of UK insurance market experience to the position, Tinworth joins Arch from DUAL where he was most recently a Senior Underwriter. Prior to this, he was a Development Underwriter at Hiscox.

ARKEL

Arkel, the fast-growing MGA and part of the Atec Group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Joshua Pool as Claims Manager.

Joshua brings more than 20 years’ industry experience, having previously served as Claims Manager at Sedwick International. An experienced claims professional, he is technically excellent in every aspect of case management, as well as skilled in building strong broker and claimant relationships. His previous experience includes roles at Acumen Claims Ltd, Innovation Group, and HSBC.

TL DALLAS

Independent insurance broker, TL Dallas, has appointed Cara Mackenzie as its new regional placement manager for Scotland, a role that will see her overseeing the company’s insurer relationships across the region.

In her new position, Cara will be responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with TL Dallas’ extensive network of insurance companies, supporting key clients and partners, and driving the company’s placement strategy throughout Scotland. She will also play an important role in supporting the local broking teams on complex and difficult to place renewals, to ensure clients are properly protected against the ever-emerging risks they face.

CONDUIT HOLDINGS

Conduit Holdings, the ultimate parent company of Conduit Re, a Bermuda-based multi-line reinsurance business, announces the appointments of Richard Lightowler, Peter Mullen and Penny Shaw as Non-Executive Directors with effect from 26 March 2026. Richard and Penny will serve on Conduit’s Audit and Remuneration Committees. Peter will serve on Conduit’s Remuneration Committee.

WAGGEL

UK pet insurance brand  Waggel has appointed Katie King as its first Chief Marketing Officer, as the business continues to scale under new CEO Henri Dowling. The new role reflects Waggel’s ambition to strengthen its brand, accelerate growth, and further develop its technology-led approach to pet insurance.

King brings over a decade of international marketing experience in financial services, with a track record of driving growth and building high-performing teams. She joins Waggel from Capital One UK, where she served as UK Marketing Director.

Prior to this, King held senior roles at high growth fintech companies in Australia, including OnDeck and Athena Home Loans. She began her career on Capital One’s graduate scheme and holds a First Class degree in Business Management from the University of Nottingham.

AUGMENT RISK

Augment Risk, the reinsurance and capital solutions broker, announces the appointment of Lucy Carter as partner, MGA, effective immediately.

The appointment reflects Augment Risk’s continued investment in building a globally oriented MGA practice. As the sector continues to evolve across established and emerging markets, program businesses increasingly require partners with the technical depth, market relationships, and execution capability to navigate intricate capital and distribution decisions.

ATEC GROUP

Atec Group, the insurance distribution and growth platform, has appointed Kirsty Biggs as its new CTO.  Kirsty will join from Vitality Insurance on 14th April, following completion of her notice period.  Her appointment signals Atec’s intent to fortify its technical leadership as it seeks to build on its impressive growth trajectory and push the boundaries of people-first tech-enabled insurance development and distribution.

Kirsty brings over 20 years’ experience to the CTO role. At Vitality she is IT Director – Vitality Programme Systems. She spent 9 years in senior leadership positions at Vitality across engineering, delivery, and development. Her background also includes 9 years at Ageas, where she held the position of Innovation Delivery Lead. Highly regarded for her ability to deliver brilliant digital experiences, Kirsty is skilled in IT change management, product development, business transformation, and operations.
