The latest news from Consilium for you;
Consilium, the global speciality (re)insurance broker, is delighted to announce the opening of an office in Luxembourg.
Luxembourg is the second-largest fund market in the world, with €8.3 trillion assets under management. Consilium’s office will provide fund management businesses, financial institutions, and private equity firms with access to expert local and international advice, broad product coverage across all Professional and Executive Risks, and improved access to London and European markets.
This is the latest in Consilium’s build-out of its Professional & Executive Risk Solutions division in key international and offshore financial hubs.
The new office in Luxembourg will be headed up by Wim Geleyn. Recognised as an innovation leader in the region, he brings international expertise and a hybrid background that covers insurance, corporate finance, and law. Wim’s background includes underwriting and broking roles at Aon, Marsh, AIG and Winterthur International (now AXA XL).
Wim brings a total of 30 years’ experience with vast expertise in broking and placement for financial institutions, investment structures, private equity firms, and independent non-executive directors, with a specialist focus on D&O, Professional Indemnity, ESG, and complex financial risks. Heading up the office in Luxembourg, he will leverage his extensive regional knowledge and expertise in accessing both Lloyd’s and European markets to deliver clients with solutions tailored to address the complex and varied exposures they face. Wim will also utilise the advanced AI and technology-driven broker enablement power of Consilium’s ATOMX, its proprietary tech-ecosystem, to drive smarter workflows, quicker delivery cycles and intelligent risk placement.
Consilium Luxembourg will focus on the full range of Professional and Executive Risk Solutions. This importantly includes providing access to Fundshield – Consilium’s innovative, online quote and bind platform. Tailored specifically for funds, limited partnerships and asset holding SPV structures, it offers comprehensive D&O and Professional Indemnity cover.
Commenting on the office opening, Nick Bachmann, Managing Partner – Professional and Executive Risk Solutions, at Consilium commented: “Luxembourg has long been a strategic target for us as we seek to help leading financial markets successfully navigate the complexities of today’s world. We have a proven model in other financial hubs, including the Channel Islands and Cayman Islands, delivering a differentiated proposition that combines on-the-ground local advisory-led support with access to one of the most experienced financial lines broking teams in the world.
“We’re delighted that Wim has joined us. He brings extensive local and international expertise, which he will utilise to build relationships, unlock market access and meet the strong demand for high-quality D&O, financial lines, and complex risk solutions backed by A-rated capacity and technology-driven innovation.”
