Want to Switch Caravan Insurance Without Fees? CAMC Has it Covered

The word from the CAMC as they try to win new customers over;

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is urging UK caravan owners to review their cover as cost-of-living pressures prompt more households to reassess their spending. While many owners wait until renewal to switch providers, the Club is highlighting that savings could be made immediately by switching mid-term – with no need to wait.

Through its new “Switch to Us” initiative, the Club is encouraging caravan owners to explore potential savings today. Those who switch their cover before their current policy ends – and before 31 August 2026 – can have the cancellation fee charged by their existing provider reimbursed, helping remove a key barrier to switching.

The campaign supports the launch of the Club’s revised Caravan Cover product, which has been designed to offer improved value and flexibility. Caravan Cover is a specialist alternative to standard insurance, created specifically for touring caravans and available to Club members.

While many leisure vehicle owners shop around at renewal, the Club is encouraging them to look beyond price alone and consider how well their policy reflects their actual usage and needs.

Caravan Cover offers a flexible, “your way” approach, allowing owners to build cover around their touring needs. Features can include:

  • New-for-old cover option for caravans up to 15 years old.
  • Paid Value cover option for caravans of any age. So if the outfit is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, owners will get back the exact amount they paid for the outfit.
  • Market Value cover options for caravans of any age.
  • Equipment, awning and contents cover with new-for-old protection as standard, unlike some policies.
  • UK Holiday Cover, helping ensure owners are not left without a roof over their head if something goes wrong while away.
  • Optional Overseas Cover, including travel in Europe and Morocco.
  • Optional Friends and Family cover – protecting your caravan, awning, contents and equipment if you lend them to friends and family.

Julie Constable, Head of Insurance and Financial Services at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said:  “Many owners are understandably looking to reduce costs, but it’s important they don’t compromise on the level of protection for what is often a significant investment. Our message is simple: review your cover carefully, consider switching sooner rather than later, and make sure it reflects how you actually use your caravan.”

The Club also highlights additional benefits designed to deliver value and reassurance, including:

  • Competitive pricing while offering great protection.
  • A UK-based contact centre, with specialist knowledge of caravanning and touring.
  • A UK-based claims team with specialist knowledge of caravan repairs.
  • No hidden fees, such as cancellation or mid-term amendment charges.
