Targa Telematics, one of the world’s leading players in AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) for the development of digital solutions and platforms for connected mobility, announces that it has further strengthened its support for fleet maintenance with Maintenance Excellence, an innovative Agentic AI-powered solution.
Maintenance Excellence helps overcome information fragmentation by integrating data from telematics devices, OEM systems and external platforms into a single interoperable ecosystem that monitors vehicle health in real time. The solution detects early signs of wear or anomalies, schedules maintenance activities, and routes tasks and approvals to the appropriate stakeholders, continuously assessing the operational performance of the entire process.
Thanks to its Agentic AI capabilities, Maintenance Excellence unlocks the automation of a wide range of low-value tasks, including appointment scheduling, stakeholder coordination, workflow initiation, operational prioritisation and administrative checks, freeing up time and resources that can be reallocated to higher-value strategic activities.
The introduction of the solution reflects a growing recognition across the industry that effective maintenance depends on an increasingly complex ecosystem of stakeholders, including repair shops, spare parts suppliers, logistics operators, authorisation networks and digital platforms, generating a growing volume of data that requires coordination.

For leasing companies, fleet managers, mobility operators and businesses, the challenge is no longer simply carrying out maintenance activities, but managing the entire ecosystem that revolves around them. By integrating Agentic AI into fleet maintenance management, Targa Telematics enables organisations to shift their focus from isolated maintenance tasks to the orchestration of the entire process, helping them tackle key industry pain points.
“UK fleet operators are managing increasingly complex maintenance ecosystems while facing continued pressure to maximise vehicle availability and control costs,” said Chris Horbowyj, UK Commercial Director at Targa Telematics. “With Maintenance Excellence, we are delivering an Agentic AI-powered solution that enables organisations to move beyond reactive maintenance and manual coordination to intelligent, autonomous management of the entire maintenance lifecycle. The result is greater operational efficiency, reduced downtime and smarter decision-making across the fleet.”
Maintenance Excellence is designed to address pressing industry challenges across multiple markets. A recent study involving over 120 Italian mobility operators conducted by research institute Centro Studi Fleet&Mobility and promoted by Targa Telematics and Escargo, a company dedicated to dealers and rental providers, found that 69% of respondents believe that integrated vehicle data management would significantly improve the accuracy of information relating to vehicle downtime. 66% think that smart and coordinated information management can help reduce vehicle inactivity, while 64% identify AI-driven integration and analysis of data as the most effective way to create value throughout the maintenance process.
Additional evidence further highlights the benefits of applying AI to maintenance. According to Targa Telematics Observatory, AI can reduce maintenance costs by up to 30% while cutting fleet downtime by 13%.
