Warranty Solutions Group Publishes Payout Data

Some useful info here on claims settled from Warranty Solutions Group;

Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) has surpassed £30 million in warranty claims paid since launching in 2021, marking a major milestone that reflects not only the company’s rapid growth, but also the changing role of protection products within the modern automotive retail sector.

Since inception, WSG has paid £30,921,291 (excluding VAT) across 57,339 approved warranty claims, reaching the £30 million milestone in June 2026. Every claim represents a motorist protected from an unexpected repair bill and a dealer able to deliver on the promises made at the point of sale, reinforcing customer trust and strengthening long-term relationships.

The achievement comes as dealers face rising repair costs, increasingly complex vehicle technology and growing customer expectations, making comprehensive warranty protection more important than ever before. WSG believes the days of warranty being viewed simply as an aftersales product are over. Instead, it has become a vital tool for protecting customer confidence, strengthening dealership reputation and supporting long-term profitability.

According to WSG’s latest Vehicle Market View Report, the average cost of vehicle repairs continues to rise as labour rates increase, vehicles become more technologically advanced and motorists keep their cars for longer. The report concludes that the era of “cheap to fix” motoring is rapidly disappearing, increasing both the financial risk to motorists and the value of high-quality warranty protection.

Today, WSG supports almost 3,000 dealer partners, employs more than 130 people and protects hundreds of thousands of motorists across the UK, having grown from a start-up launched during the pandemic into one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive warranty and added-value insurance product providers.

The business has achieved average year-on-year growth of 98%, reached critical mass two years ahead of its original business plan and reinvested more than £8 million into technology, infrastructure, product development, digital capability and people.

However, WSG believes the £30 million milestone represents far more than commercial success.

Since launch, the company has invested heavily in changing how warranty supports automotive retailers. Rather than simply providing products and processing claims, WSG has developed an ecosystem of services designed to help dealers improve profitability, reduce operating costs and make better commercial decisions.

John Colinswood, CEO of Warranty Solutions Group, commented: “Paying £30.9 million across more than 57,000 warranty claims in just five years represents far more than a financial milestone. Every approved claim reflects a customer who has been protected from an unexpected repair bill and a dealer who has been able to reinforce trust with their customer.

“The automotive industry has changed dramatically over the past five years. The era of ‘cheap to fix’ motoring is over. Modern vehicles are safer, cleaner and more technologically advanced than ever before, but they’re also significantly more expensive to repair. That makes warranty more valuable than it has ever been.”

The company’s claims data reflects how vehicle repairs are evolving. As electrification, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and increasingly sophisticated electronics become commonplace, faults are often more complex and expensive to diagnose and repair.

WSG’s research has shown that while electric vehicles are proving highly reliable overall, when faults do occur they often require specialist expertise and higher-value components, reinforcing the importance of specialist warranty products.

Colinswood added: “Since WSG launched, we’ve always believed dealers deserve more than a company that simply authorises repairs. They need a strategic partner that helps them reduce costs, improve profitability, understand emerging market trends and deliver an outstanding ownership experience for their customers.

“That’s why we’ve invested heavily in technology, dealer education, claims intelligence and innovation. We believe we have a responsibility to raise standards across the industry, not simply compete within it. This milestone demonstrates that we’re delivering on that ambition every single day.”

Supporting the company’s mission is a claims operation designed around speed, transparency and customer experience. The business has also continued strengthening its long-term capability through significant investment in technology, digital infrastructure and underwriting. The recent launch of its own insurance captive, WSG Guardian Insurance Ltd, provides greater underwriting flexibility while supporting future product innovation and operational resilience.

WSG is progressing with the next phase of its growth strategy. Following the formation of its Spanish subsidiary, the company is expanding into Europe while continuing to invest in operational excellence to further improve customer outcomes and help shape the future of automotive warranty.

Five years after launch, WSG believes the £30 million claims milestone demonstrates more than its own commercial success. It reflects the transformation of warranty itself — from a product designed simply to cover repair costs into an essential component of customer confidence, dealer profitability and modern automotive retail.
