The latest new product in the wedding cover sector;
The team behind award-winning insurtech Arma Karma has launched Save The Date, a digital wedding insurance proposition aimed at improving choice and transparency in the market.
Save The Date has been created to address the protection gap in wedding insurance, with a digital proposition designed to make cover easier to understand and purchase.
It offers three core levels of cover across a range of wedding values, with additional options available for customers whose requirements fall outside the standard packages. The proposition is intended to give couples greater flexibility over the level of protection they purchase, rather than directing them towards a single standardised product.
The launch marks the team’s entry into a personal lines market that it believes has seen limited product and distribution innovation in recent years, despite the rising cost and complexity of organising a wedding.
Ben Smyth, founder of Save The Date, said: “When I recently bought wedding insurance myself, I found that the process felt outdated and inflexible, and did not reflect the way many couples now plan and pay for their weddings.
“We saw an opportunity to create a clearer and more flexible proposition, supported by a digital journey that allows customers to understand their options and obtain a price quickly.
“Weddings are among the largest purchases many people will make, but customers are not always given a clear view of the cover they are buying or the circumstances in which they will be protected.”
The customer journey allows couples to obtain an initial price and review the available levels of cover early in the purchasing process. Save The Date said the platform had been designed to remove unnecessary friction while ensuring customers can compare the scope of the available options before buying.
Save The Date has been launched by the team behind Arma Karma, the B Corp-certified insurtech providing flexible possessions insurance for students, renters and young professionals. It is underwritten by Bspoke Underwriting with capacity from Accelerant.
Arma Karma won the Innovative Product Award for Personal Lines at the 2023 National Insurance Awards, while Smyth was named Young Achiever of the Year at the 2022 British Insurance Awards.
Smyth added: “At Arma Karma, we have focused on understanding younger customers and developing insurance propositions that are more relevant to the way they live and buy.
“Save The Date applies that experience to a market where we believe there is considerable scope to improve both the product and the customer journey.”
Arma Karma was acquired by Bspoke Group in 2025, bringing its digital capabilities into the wider group. Save The Date combines Arma Karma’s experience of developing digital insurance journeys for younger customers with Bspoke’s underwriting infrastructure and expertise in specialist personal lines products.
