The latest senior appointments news round up for you, apologies to anyone we missed;

ICISA

The International Credit Insurance and Surety Association (ICISA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Annet de Grooth as its new Executive Director. Her date of commencement has yet to be agreed on.

Annet de Grooth will succeed Richard Wulff and will lead the Association as it enters its next chapter, building on ICISA’s role as the global voice for the credit insurance and surety industry.

Annet brings more than two decades of experience in the industry, with a strong background in surety underwriting, reinsurance and leadership. She joined Dual Europe in April 2023 as Head of Surety Europe, based in The Netherlands, which serves as the central hub for surety operations in Europe. Previously, she worked for Credendo, Nationale Borg (now Liberty Mutual) and Atradius. Annet holds an MBA degree in Change Management.

FOIL

The Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) has appointed renowned insurance professional Mark Huxley as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2026. His tenure follows 17 years of effective leadership and planned diversification at FOIL under Laurence Besemer. Besemer is moving on to pursue other ventures and consultancy projects within the insurance industry. He will stay at FOIL until the end of the calendar year to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.
Huxley brings almost five decades of experience across the insurance and wider financial services sectors, having worked across frontline claims, the Lloyd’s market, regulatory and operational roles, outsourced claims management and strategic consultancy. He has also worked closely with FOIL since 2018 as a London Market FOIL Special Adviser. Alongside his business activities, Mark is active in the civic life of the City of London, representing entrepreneurship and innovation, and supports charitable initiatives focused on social inclusion, particularly education, access to employment and neuro-inclusion.
HOWDEN
Howden’s South Wales Commercial division has welcomed a new appointment as it continues to expand and invest in its regional team.
Mathew Price joins Howden’s commercial team as an Account Executive, having spent the past six years at Aon working with a diverse book of clients.
Matthew will focus on delivering tailored risk solutions, supporting risk management initiatives, and identifying new business opportunities within South Wales, the South West and the West Midlands, using this opportunity at Howden to manage and develop client relationships, review and structure insurance programmes, and place appropriate coverage within the market.
On his appointment, Mathew commented: “I am excited to be joining the team at Howden. WILLIS

 Willis, a WTW business (NASDAQ:WTW), today announced the appointment of Gerard Owens as Head of Captive and Insurance Management Solutions, Ireland, effective 1 November 2026. Owens succeeds Trevor Madden who will lead the Willis’ Captive and Insurance Management Solutions business in Singapore.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, with extensive expertise in captive management, financial and regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance and business development.

During his career, Owens has led teams responsible for the management and oversight of captive insurers and reinsurers operating in Ireland. He has worked closely with organisations on the establishment, expansion and optimisation of captive insurance programmes, having held a number of senior positions at Willis since 2017.

CHARLES TAYLOR

Charles Taylor, the global leader in loss adjusting services and complex technical claims management, has appointed Andrew Milne as Managing Director for Charles Taylor in Australia.
Milne’s appointment follows an internal succession process and reflects Charles Taylor’s long-term focus on developing and highlighting talent from within the business. With more than 11 years of experience at Charles Taylor as part of the company’s loss adjusting team, Milne has handled a wide range of complex claims across Charles Taylor’s natural resources, heavy industry, onshore energy, mining, power generation and engineering divisions.
In January 2024, he was named Director of Natural Resources in recognition of his significant contributions and experience in handling large and complex claims related to upstream energy, green energy, and onshore energy and mining.
HOOD GROUP
Hood Group, a leading provider of home, travel and pet insurance solutions to affinity and partnership brands, has announced the appointment of Paul Paddock as Chief Executive Officer, as the business enters its next phase.

Paul brings extensive experience across the insurance, product and pricing sectors, having spent almost nine years at Post Office Insurance, where he most recently served as Interim Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to this, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Product and Pricing, playing a key role in the development of the business and its insurance proposition.

Before joining Post Office Insurance, Paul spent ten years at Holiday Extras, holding senior roles across insurance, product and pricing, including Head of Insurance.

HOWDEN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Howden Employee Benefits has appointed John Deegan to its UK board as a Non-Executive Director and as an adviser to the Global Employee Benefits Executive Leadership Team.

John brings more than 25 years of experience across Mercer Marsh Benefits and its predecessor businesses. His roles included leading its multinational employee benefits business and responsibility for Darwin, its global benefits technology platform.

He has led colleagues and client teams across more than 70 countries, helping multinational employers manage employee benefits across different markets and bringing together local expertise, technology and a consistent client approach.

CARBON UNDERWRITING

Carbon Underwriting Limited (“Carbon”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Wooldridge as its head of US casualty and deputy active underwriter, effective 28 September 2026.

In his new role, Phil will be responsible for growing Carbon’s book of business for US policies covering long-tail casualty risks. He will work closely with Jeff Bright, Carbon’s underwriting director responsible for short-tail US policies, and report into Rob Crocker, chief underwriting officer at Carbon.

Phil joins Carbon with more than 30 years’ underwriting experience. He arrives from Gallagher Re, where he was head of reinsurance for program solutions. Previously, he held roles as head of London US casualty at SiriusPoint Ltd. and as the syndicate chief underwriting officer, reinsurance, at MS Amlin.

LMA

The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) announces the appointment of Christiern Dart, Chief Executive Officer of MS Amlin, to the LMA Board. The LMA is governed by a Board that sets the overall strategy, direction and priorities of the Association. The Board is made up of senior market practitioners and LMA leaders.
Clare Constable, Chief Claims Officer of MS Amlin, has stepped down from the LMA Board.

ANTARES GLOBAL
Antares Global has appointed James Day as Property Treaty Underwriter – Reinsurance, further strengthening its reinsurance team. He will report to Mat Storr, Head of Reinsurance.

The appointment forms part of Antares Global’s continued investment in its reinsurance capabilities as it expands the depth, breadth and accessibility of its underwriting platform.

Mat Storr said: “Reinsurance is a central pillar of our product suite at Antares Global. Attracting underwriters of James’ calibre reflects the investment we are making to build teams with real strength in depth. TMK

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), a leading specialist insurer, has announced the appointment of Scott Collier as Underwriter, further strengthening its underwriting capabilities and commitment to delivering specialist solutions to clients and brokers. 

Scott joins TMK bringing more than a decade of specialist energy market experience, with a strong track record in underwriting complex risks, portfolio management, and broker relationship development across the London Market. In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting TMK’s continued growth ambitions, while delivering technical underwriting expertise and exceptional service to clients worldwide.

AMTIVO

Amtivo, a global provider of certification and business assurance services, has appointed Richard Stabbins as UK Managing Director, strengthening its leadership in one of the Group’s key markets.

Richard brings more than 20 years of experience across sectors and has an extensive background in operations, business development, customer service and organisational transformation.

ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL

Allianz Commercial has announced that Nina Arquint will become the new President, Commercial, Europe, Middle East and Africa* (EMEA) of Allianz Commercial and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (‘AGCS’), with effect from April 1 2027, subject to regulatory approval. She will join the AGCS Board of Management and will report to Thomas Lillelund, Chief Executive Officer at Allianz Commercial.
Nina will be responsible for Allianz Commercial’s Large Corporate (LargeCorp) and Mid Corporate (MidCorp) business across EMEA and will work closely with its Managing Directors to further drive growth and deliver value to clients, brokers and agents.

CONDUIT

Conduit Holdings, the ultimate parent company of Conduit Re, a Bermuda-based multi-line reinsurance business, announces that Neil Eckert will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director, effective 1 March 2027. The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Dunleavy as CEO, effective 1 March 2027. Christian will also join the Board of Conduit Holdings as an Executive Director on the same date.

Christian Dunleavy brings more than 25 years of reinsurance industry experience to Conduit, most recently as Director and Group President of Aspen Insurance Holdings and CEO of Aspen Bermuda Limited. Since joining Aspen in 2015 as Global Head of Property Catastrophe Reinsurance, he held a series of senior leadership roles, including Group Chief Underwriting Officer. During Christian’s time at Aspen, he and the leadership team executed a successful transformation of the business, generating strong growth, improved underwriting results and attractive returns on capital with a 2025 initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange.

WILLIS RE

Willis Re, the specialist global reinsurance broking and advisory business, has announced the appointment of Neil Eckert as Chief Executive Officer. Eckert will lead Willis Re’s global broking and advisory strategy, working closely with the firm’s leadership team to drive growth across all platforms. He will join the company upon completion of his current contractual obligations.

Bringing four decades of reinsurance, insurance and capital markets experience to the role, Eckert’s career spans both sides of the industry – the broking and risk transfer market, and the capital and underwriting vehicles that support it. He joins Willis Re from Conduit Re, the Bermuda-based reinsurer which he co-founded in 2020 and has led as CEO since 2025.

Eckert began his career as a reinsurance broker, joining Benfield Group plc in 1986, and becoming a board member in 1988. In 1995, he founded Benfield & Rea Investment Trust, a listed vehicle raising capital to back Lloyd’s and insurance-company underwriting capacity, which was relisted in 1999 as Brit Insurance Holdings plc. Eckert served as founding CEO until 2005 and remained a non-executive director of the company until 2008.
