Sollers Consulting Working With Red River Mutual

The latest partnership news from Sollers Consulting;

Sollers Consulting announces the successful completion of an Advanced Product Designer (APD) Conversion project for the Canadian insurer Red River Mutual. The initiative modernizes product configuration across the insurer’s residential, commercial, and farm lines of business, enabling faster product updates, greater operational efficiency, and an improved customer experience.

With the support of Sollers Consulting, the Canadian insurer Red River Mutual introduced Guidewire’s Advanced Product Designer (APD), a cloud-native solution that supports product design across the Guidewire ecosystem. The new solution enables business users to complete simple coverage updates in hours or days, compared with the previous turnaround time of 2–4 weeks, reducing overall time-to-market by approximately 60–80%. By increasing standardization and reducing customizations, Red River Mutual also expects to reduce product maintenance effort by 30–50%. The entire implementation was delivered within 13 weeks.

“By transitioning to APD, Red River Mutual has taken a major step toward improving agility, scalability, and speed to market,” explains Michał Trochimczuk, President of Sollers Consulting. “Red River Mutual can now introduce and modify insurance products more efficiently, adapting offerings to meet customer needs and regulatory changes with greater speed and accuracy.”

“We initiated the project to better enable our internal processes to adapt to market demands, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations,” comments Brenda Gibson, President and CEO of Red River Mutual. “The previous product configuration model made even minor updates time-consuming and heavily dependent on IT teams, resulting in extended delivery cycles and higher operational costs.”

The APD Conversion project was designed to standardize product management within the existing policy administration system of Guidewire Software. The project demonstrated exceptional delivery quality and thorough testing. Among the 385 test cases created and executed for APD functionalities, the defect rate was an extremely low 0.8%. The APD Conversion project required a careful balance between modernization and preservation. Sollers Consulting successfully reverse-engineered existing product configurations while ensuring full behavioural parity and continuity.

Beyond the successful implementation, the APD conversion provides Red River Mutual with a modern foundation for future product innovation. By simplifying product maintenance and enabling business-driven product configuration, the insurer is well positioned to respond more quickly to changing customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and evolving market opportunities.
