The all-new electric Nissan MICRA has earned a five-star Sustainability Rating from GreenNCAP, the highest score awarded by the independent environmental assessment programme.
The rating recognises MICRA’s strong environmental performance across key areas including Air quality, Energy efficiency and Greenhouse gas emissions. Unlike many assessments, Green NCAP also considers a vehicle’s full life cycle, from production and use through to end-of-life treatment, providing customers with an independent measure of its overall environmental impact.
What does the all-new MICRA’s five-star Green NCAP rating mean?
Green NCAP’s five-star Sustainability Rating represents its highest level of environmental performance, with this reserved for what it describes as “very good electric vehicles”.
The all-new MICRA electric vehicle (EV) achieved strong results across the board during NCAP testing. It scored 9.3 out of 10 for Energy Efficiency and 10 out of 10 for Greenhouse Gases. Green NCAP also rated its Cold Weather Performance as ”Good”].
How do the all-new MICRA’s compact dimensions support efficiency and everyday usability?
Conceived as a fun, compact and agile electric car, the all-new MICRA measures under four metres long and less than 1.8 metres wide, making it easy to operate on European streets, whilst still meeting the elite sustainability performance outlined in Green NCAP.
Customers can choose between 40kWh and 52kWh battery versions, providing up 317km and 416km of WLTP range respectively, depending on market specification. The 40kWh battery supports up to 80kW DC charging, while the 52kWh version supports up to 100kW. Regenerative braking and Nissan’s e‑Pedal technology also ensure efficient everyday driving. Further underlining its efficiency credentials, MICRA achieves energy consumption of just 12.6kWh/100km.
How is MICRA designed for European customers?
The sixth-generation MICRA was developed specifically with European customers in mind and marks the nameplate’s transformation into a fully EV. Its compact footprint is well suited to Europe’s urban environments and narrow streets, while its range and charging capability give customers the flexibility to travel beyond the city when needed.
Its exterior was created at Nissan Design Europe in London, giving the model its distinctive Nissan identity. Pronounced wheel arches and signature lighting give the car an expressive character that builds on the personality established across five previous generations of MICRA.
Inside, connected technologies support everyday usability, including NissanConnect with Google built-in, route planning incorporating charging stops.

How does the Alliance support the all-new MICRA?
Developed in partnership with Renault, the all-new MICRA demonstrates how Nissan is using the scale of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance to develop electric vehicles efficiently for Europe while retaining a distinct Nissan identity.
