It’s time to round up the latest senior level appointments news, so let’s get going. Apologies to anyone we missed;

ANTARES GLOBAL

Antares Global has promoted Amelia Hinds to Class Underwriter, Specie. Based in London, Hinds will report directly to James Glynn, Head of Marine, who will continue to support the Specie portfolio.
The move further demonstrates Antares’ commitment to developing talent and providing underwriters with the opportunity to progress within the business. It follows the promotion of Mat Storr to Head of Reinsurance in August.

MISSION

 MISSION, the MGA Capital Partner, has appointed Bruno Ritchie as Strategic Advisor as it builds out its presence overseas.

Ritchie has more than two decades’ experience in the specialty and commercial insurance markets in France and the UK. He has held senior underwriting roles at Allianz, Hiscox and Argo. He has also worked in the MGA market with Innovisk Capital Partners and PelotonUW, as well as KARAD, his own specialty insurance consultancy.
ODEVO
Leading real estate business Odevo has appointed a new leader for its European insurance business.
Paul Glasper FCII FCILEx FCMI has joined Odevo as its new SVP Insurance Europe. In this new role, Paul will lead Odevo’s insurance broking businesses across Europe to ensure best value and service proposition for clients. He will also be appointed as CEO of Alexander Bonhill, the UK insurance brokerage (subject to regulatory approval). Paul will be part of the global Financial Services Management Team and report to Pasquale di Nicola, Head of Financial Services. He will also work closely with Claire Shepherd, CEO of Odevo UK.
CONSILIUM

Consilium, the global specialty (re)insurance broker, has appointed Henry Menage as Professional Indemnity New Business Executive, strengthening its Professional Indemnity (PI) offering within its UK & Ireland Risk Solutions Division.

Henry joins from Citynet, bringing five years’ specialist Professional Indemnity broking experience. He has placed a broad range of PI risks, including large, complex, and distressed accounts, and brings additional expertise across Cyber, D&O and Financial Lines, with particular experience in the Construction sector.

The appointment strengthens Consilium’s ambition to build a market-leading PI proposition at a time when brokers and clients are seeking greater expertise, responsiveness and access to quality capacity.

QUMIS

 Qumis, the coverage intelligence platform for commercial P&C insurance, announced the appointments of Jared Williams as Head of Sales and Lynn Black as Head of Customer Experience to help scale the company’s growth and customer impact.

Williams will lead Qumis’ go-to-market and revenue strategy, while Black will oversee the end-to-end customer experience. Williams brings more than 15 years of experience across sales, customer success and technology, while Black previously helped build and scale Federato’s customer success organization during a period of significant growth.

The appointments come on the heels of Qumis’ recent launch of its attorney-certified AI agents, expanding its coverage intelligence platform with specialized agents across 16 lines of commercial insurance coverage.

SANTAM SYNDICATE

Santam Syndicate 1918 (“the Syndicate”), part of Santam Group, Africa’s largest non-life insurer, today announces the appointment of Hina Shavdia as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Shavdia will report to Sam Geddes, CEO of the Syndicate, and will be based in London.

Shavdia brings more than 20 years of global insurance and reinsurance transformation experience to the role. She joins from Volante Global, where she served as Group COO, leading the transformation of operations and shared services across the group and establishing and chairing an ExCo-sponsored Global Change Board to drive strategic change and accountability. Prior to Volante Global, Shavdia spent four years at AXIS Capital as Global Head of Business Change, where she built a global change capability, strengthening the organisation’s ability to deliver complex change and embed greater accountability for outcomes.

HDI GLOBAL

HDI Global UK & Ireland (HDI) has appointed Louise Radford as Active Underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 2029.

Radford is currently Head of Financial Lines at HDI UK & Ireland and will continue to lead this team alongside her new responsibilities. She will continue to report to Adam Curran, Chief Underwriting Officer – Specialty.

Radford brings extensive insurance underwriting and broking experience, including roles within the Lloyd’s market, and joined HDI in 2020 as a Senior Underwriter in the firm’s Management Liability team.

The appointment represents a significant step in the development of Syndicate 2029 following HDI’s recent Approval in Principle from Lloyd’s to establish a new syndicate. The platform will complement HDI’s existing insurance capabilities and global reach, providing clients and brokers with greater access to the company’s specialist underwriting expertise through the Lloyd’s market.

OPEN GI

Open GI has appointed James Barnard as Group CEO to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation.
In his new role, James will be responsible for building on Open GI’s established market position, industry expertise and longstanding customer relationships. He will also oversee the continued development of the company’s proposition as Open GI seeks to deliver further value for brokers and support their changing technology requirements.
Having joined from Aviva where he was Chief Operations Officer of Aviva General Insurance, James has held a range of senior technology and operations roles at Aviva as well as at Ardonagh. He brings significant leadership experience and a strong track record of building successful businesses and high-performing teams with an approach that focuses on customers, people and innovation across the board.

ERGO GROUP

ERGO Group announced today that ERGO NEXT CEO Guy Goldstein will assume the newly created role of Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) on the Management Board of ERGO Group AG, effective October 1.

In this position, he will be responsible for the systematic implementation of artificial intelligence across the entire ERGO Group. At the same time, Mark Klein, currently Chief Digital Officer of ERGO Group AG, will leave the company at the end of the year at his own request.

Guy Goldstein will take on the new role of CAIO in addition to his position as CEO of ERGO NEXT in the United States. He founded the U.S. property and casualty insurer in Palo Alto in 2016, focusing on the specific needs of small business owners, and has built it into one of the leading digital insurers for small businesses in the United States.

PEN UNDERWRITING

Pen Underwriting, the multi-class managing general agent (MGA), has announced the appointment of Petra Votzakis as Renewable Energy Underwriter as it looks to grow its existing specialism in anaerobic digestion (AD), expand its risk-management led insurance propositions for the waste-to-energy industry and extend into new areas of renewable energy.

Petra’s appointment highlights Pen’s continued focus on providing tailored risk solutions for existing AD operations in the UK and its planned expansion into the construction risks of new AD operations, to offer greater broker choice in a limited and highly specialised insurance market.

Bringing 20 years of diverse insurance sector experience, across broking and underwriting, Petra has spent the past decade specialising in construction, engineering and renewable energy risks. She joins from Allianz’s dedicated Engineering, Construction and Power business where she was Renewable Power Underwriter focused on UK onshore risks including solar, wind, hydro and anaerobic digestion.

IAA

IAA UK, part of RB Global, announces the appointment of Isabel Sanchez as Client Marketing Manager. Isabel joins the team to lead content strategy across IAA UK’s client-facing channels, strengthening the company’s storytelling and engagement with insurers, fleet and leasing operators, bodyshops and brokers across the UK market.

In her new role, Isabel will work closely with the Client Team to support its marketing activities, leading content creation, optimisation and amplification across owned, earned and paid media. Her focus will be on developing campaigns that build brand awareness, strengthen trust and drive engagement and conversions among the company’s client audience.

ING

 ING has expanded its UK sector banking operation with six senior appointments, adding specialist coverage in financial sponsors, insurance, transport and logistics, food, beverage and agribusiness, and multinational companies.

Under the new leadership of Aled Patchett, UK head of sectors, the expansion includes a newly created role connecting multinational clients with ING’s international network, a dedicated London food and agribusiness team, broader transport coverage beyond the bank’s established shipping business, as well as enhanced financial sponsors and insurance expertise.

ING has strengthened its Financial Sponsors franchise with the appointment of Isotta Perotti as managing director. Perotti has more than two decades of experience across Investment Banking and Sponsor coverage, and joins ING from Société Générale, where she was responsible for driving growth across large multi-strategy and infrastructure sponsor names. Based in London, she will support clients across EMEA and globally.

The appointment is part of ING’s recent investment in specialist sector coverage across its UK business.

In insurance, ING has appointed Tom Duncan as global lead for insurance and Lauren Marshall as EMEA lead for insurance. They will shape ING’s global and regional insurance strategies, coordinate activity across key markets and help clients address complex financing, capital and risk management needs.

ING has also expanded its transport and logistics coverage with the appointment of Katie Timmons from Citi. Timmons brings extensive experience across aviation, logistics, land transport and automotive, broadening ING’s UK offering beyond its established shipping business. She will advise clients as they navigate shifting trade flows, digital transformation and the transition to lower-carbon operations.

ARCH INSURANCE

 Arch Insurance International (Arch) has announced the appointment of Danielle Whitlock as Senior Marine Hull & War Underwriter, effective immediately.

In this role, Whitlock is responsible for supporting the growth of the marine hull & war portfolio, providing primary and excess coverage for a wide spectrum of vessels and interests. Based in London, she reports to Jason Page, Head of Marine Hull & War.

An experienced practitioner, Whitlock brings over 20 years of marine insurance experience spanning both broking and underwriting. She joins Arch from WTW where she was an Associate Director in the marine division. She has also held roles at Lochain Patrick Insurance Brokers, The Standard Syndicate and Novae Syndicates.

AON

 Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, today announced that Jane Drummond has been appointed Global Chief Commercial Officer, effective January 1, 2027. Drummond will report to Andy Marcell, Deputy CEO and SEVP, Risk Capital and Human Capital for Aon, and will serve as a member of the Aon Executive Committee, based in Chicago. Drummond will succeed Anne Corona, who was named CEO of North America for Aon in March 2026.

In this role, Drummond will lead Aon’s global go-to-market strategy, sales execution and growth across Global Solution Lines, helping to advance our commercial capabilities by driving global client strategies that deliver differentiated client value at scale. She will also lead Aon’s Global Growth Committee, bringing together regional and solution line Chief Commercial Officers, along with leaders from Sales Enablement, Marketing and Bid / Proposal Management. This committee will play a critical role in aligning commercial priorities across the firm.

ALLIANZ

Allianz Commercial has announced that Stephen Morton will become its new Global Head of Captive Fronting and Captive Solutions, with effect from March 1, 2027. Stephen will be based in Paris and report directly to Lara Martiner, Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) at Allianz Commercial. He succeeds Brian McNamara, who will retire at the end of September.

In this role, Stephen will continue to expand Allianz Commercial’s well-established global captive solutions portfolio and services which have strongly grown over the past 15 years, responding to increasing customer demand for multinational insurance and captive products.  These services are delivered through Allianz Group’s extensive international licensing network, ranging from classic captive fronting for mono-line coverage to more sophisticated multi-year/multi-line solutions, including bringing together cross-border products and service capabilities from other Allianz business units.

AXA XL

AXA XL has appointed Debbie Durkan as Head of Private Equity and Business Development, UK & Lloyd’s. Based in London, she starts her new role on 1st October.

In this newly created role, Ms. Durkan will focus on building the Private Equity practice, developing and promoting the offering and positioning it as a significant part of AXA XL’s UK and Lloyd’s product suite.  In addition, she will lead business development efforts across some key growth initiatives.

Commenting on her appointment Elie Hanna, Chief Distribution Officer, UK & Lloyd’s at AXA XL said: “Private equity markets have grown, and continue to do so, with assets under management projected to reach more than $18 trillion by 2027, up from $15 trillion in 2024. With Debbie’s appointment we have a real opportunity to support and advance the risk management needs of more private equity clients.

PPL

PPL has appointed Rebecca Drummond as Chief Product and Technology Officer, with a remit to further accelerate the development and delivery of trading tools and data to the London insurance market.
The newly created role brings together Product, Engineering and Delivery under a single leadership team structure, marking another important step in the transformation of the business. The appointment reflects the growing importance of integrated product and technology leadership to drive innovation and speed to market.
Following the recent launch of PPL’s initial trading console and service benchmark intelligence products, the business has a robust roadmap as it continues to broaden its trading propositions. The appointment reflects this strong growth agenda, implementing a revised operating model to drive increased creativity, agility and cadence of the release cycle.

CHUBB

 Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) recently announced that Sean Ringsted has been named Chief Scientist and Executive Vice President, Chubb Group, effective immediately. In this newly created role, Ringsted will focus on and have responsibility for the company’s artificial intelligence, data and analytics strategy and initiatives worldwide.

Sean Ringsted has been named Chief Scientist and Executive Vice President, Chubb Group.

Ringsted brings more than three decades of experience and a long record of accomplishments at Chubb and its predecessor, ACE Group. His experience spans risk, digital transformation, analytics and actuarial leadership. He most recently served as Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and Chief Digital Business Officer and has led the company’s AI efforts globally. In this role, Sean formed and led the successful profitable growth of the company’s digital business unit. Additionally, Sean has been central in directing how Chubb uses data and analytics to drive decision-making across the company.
