US Market: Pivix Launches Assault and Battery Program

The latest news from the US market for you;

Pivix Specialty Insurance Services Inc. (“Pivix”), an excess and surplus lines managing general agent majority owned by Octave Specialty Group, Inc. (NYSE: OSG), has launched a monoline assault and battery program designed to meet the insurance requirements of accounts needing this important coverage. The program is supported by an A+ AM Best rated insurer and available nationwide on an E&S basis.

Distributed exclusively through wholesale brokers, the new program targets apartment complexes, condominium associations, homeowner associations, lessor’s risk properties, hotels, restaurants and bars, and retail stores. The Pivix program provides limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate to meet market needs.

“Over the past several years, assault and battery coverage has been shrinking in the general liability marketplace,” Michael Gramm, Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer-Brokerage at Pivix, said. “We developed this program specifically to address that gap, with limits structured to satisfy the new lending requirements and brokers looking for complete coverage.”

Founded in 2024, the Pivix platform includes a primary general liability brokerage and a contract binding program targeting small commercial businesses with property and general liability coverages.

“The Pivix platform is built to respond quickly to evolving needs in the market,” Pivix President and CEO Mike Miller said. “We’ve made significant progress expanding our capabilities, and the launch of the assault and battery program is another important step in that growth. We see a strong pipeline of opportunities ahead and are excited about the continued expansion of the Pivix platform.”
