New Head of Software Development at Pyson
Pyson, a UK InsurTech firm (part of the Punter Southall Group) which offers real time digital and data employee benefits solutions, has appointed Daniel Vincent as its first Head of Software Development to boost growth and further develop its technology platform – Psyon Elysium.
Daniel joins from EMCOR Group (UK), a leading facilities management provider, where he was Head of Data Quality and Solutions.
Senior Underwriter at Chubb Global Markets
Chubb today announced the appointment of Benjamin Rowley as Senior Underwriter Financial Lines, Chubb Global Markets.
Benjamin is a Medical Malpractice specialist with a broad knowledge of Errors and Omissions and will be responsible for growing and managing this highly specialised area of the Chubb Global Markets business.
He joins Chubb from Hiscox where he underwrote E&O business on behalf of Syndicate 33 for 18 years, his most recent role as Head of Healthcare within the Casualty Division.

ThingCo Looks to China with New Appointment
ThingCo, the insurtech venture launched by Mike Brockman to develop the next generation of telematics technology, has appointed Richard Trebble to head its entry into China. Trebble has joined the business as Partnership Director, joining Mike Brockman, CEO and Jonathon Valentine, CTO. He was previously Group Partnership Director at Insurethebox.
Arag Make Board Appointment
Expenses provider ARAG has appointed David Haynes to the company’s board of Directors. Haynes has worked at ARAG since 2006. Haynes replaces Director Paul Hurley, who left ARAG in January 2018.
Saga Appoints Patrick O’Sullivan
Over 50s travel and insurance specialist Saga has appointed Patrick O’Sullivan as its new Chairman, effective from 1st May.
The company stated that O’Sullivan has been chairman of Old Mutual since January 2010. O’Sullivan has also been Chairman of ERS (syndicate 218), a Lloyd’s market specialist motor insurer, and is hugely experienced in growing businesses in the financial services and insurance industry.
In his new role, O’Sullivan will succeed Andrew Goodsell, who will retire from the board on 30 April.
Hastings Group Reshuffle: Toby Van der Meer Takes Over as CEO
Leading motor insurer Hastings Group will have a new CEO from today, as Gary Hoffman moves into the Chairman role. Hoffman leaves the CEO position after overseeing an 80 percent rise in Hastings share price and two years of healthy profit growth. Van der Meer has been with Hastings since 2011, and was previously MD at Moneysupermarket.
