Aquarium today announces the appointment of Jim Green as Head of Infrastructure to help drive further growth in the global insurance markets and develop the Aquarium platform for insurance companies.
Graduating in Economics from the University of Cambridge in 1990, Jim has worked on several high-profile IT infrastructure projects in a varied career. These include three years with British Rail working on both timetabling and ticketing systems and two years with Royal Insurance, playing a pivotal role in creating and maintaining a multinational insurance platform. He also worked on significant projects for Norweb including enabling customers to pay gas and electricity bills online and integration of Norweb into the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme.
Jim joined Aquarium in 2006 as Development Manager, one of four founding employees still with the company today. As Development Manager Jim was responsible for implementation of ISO standards, the development of the Aquarium platform database and delivering best in class security to Aquarium customers. Now Head of Infrastructure, Jim will take on the development and growth of Aquarium’s platform as well as its performance, with responsibility for delivering service level agreements to customers.
Commenting on his appointment, Jim Green says: “This is a huge role that I am relishing. In the short term I want to ensure the Aquarium platform exceeds the expectations of our customers. In the long run I want to be central to building the most flexible and effective insurance platform in the business, delivering fast and profitable growth into new markets.”
Ed Shropshire, Managing Director of Aquarium Software comments: “Jim’s appointment to the role of Head of Infrastructure is particularly poignant since he and I were both founding employees of Aquarium. The values that Jim brings to his role – those of integrity, attention to detail and innovation – are exactly how we want our reputation to develop in the market. This appointment further demonstrates our commitment to delivering a long-term proposition to the insurance market that can grow and develop with our clients.”
