German insurer BGV (Badische Versicherungen insurance group) is sponsoring the Global InsurTech Roadshow (GIR), which is being organized for the first time this year by the New Players Network (NPN), Germany’s largest InsurTech network. The GIR takes place on May 26th and 27th in Leipzig.
Cooperation with the NPN offers many opportunities, says Dr. Moritz Finkelnburg, board member of the BGV. “The insurance landscape is in the midst of digital change. It is exciting for us to see what opportunities arise from new solutions and technologies and how we can integrate them. ”
“We are happy to have found a strong and committed partner from the insurance world in BGV, who are very interested in new technologies and innovations from the InsurTech scene,” says Sascha Noack, Head of Network at NPN.
This year the GIR will focus on the Baltic States and the Eastern Europe region. The Baltic States are pioneers in the field of digitization, fintech and data security. Plus they offer University and research institutions and relatively low business overheads. This gives insurtech founders a chance to grow their business and attract younger employees to nations which are are intrinsically seen as being `cooler’ than western European countries.
The two-day Leipzig event includes inspiring keynotes, pitch sessions, product demos and discussion rounds with and by international InsurTechs, industry-oriented entrepreneurs and top-class influencers in the industry, according to the organisers.
The Global InsurTech Roadshow was held in 2018 by Dr. Moritz Finkelnburg was launched and has already been successfully carried out twice at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. The idea of the event is to offer small, as yet unknown InsurTechs, in particular, a platform to network with insurance companies.
