Bermuda Life & Annuity Conference is Cancelled

The Board of the Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) has made the very difficult decision to cancel its 2020 Bermuda International Life & Annity Conference scheduled for September 17.

The popular event would have been in its 7th year and is uniquely focused on Bermuda’s growing life and annuity industry.  The event features leading industry experts and stimulating panel discussions in addition to excellent networking opportunities.

As the world begins the healing process from the devastation caused by COVID-19, the conference will be put on hold until September 2021.  The conference planning committee has already begun the process of ensuring that the 2021 conference will be an event not to be missed.  BILTIR would like to thank all sponsors and attendees who have supported the conference since its inception. BILTIR would also like to thank the Fairmont Southampton for its continued hospitality and professionalism over the years.

Ronnie Klein, Executive Director of BILTIR, said: “While this was a very difficult decision for the Board, I believe that it was the correct one.  Besides financial considerations, there is a lot of time and effort put into planning this event.  The Board just did not see the justification for continuing both financial and time commitments.”

To compensate for potential lost continuing education credits for its attendees, BILTIR is looking into the possibility of providing one or more webinars.

BILTIR represents 61 long-term insurance, reinsurance and servicing companies in Bermuda who provide life and annuity products and employ 540 people on the island.
