Latest Insurance Industry Senior Hires

Here’s a round up of the latest industry hires and job moves;

ATRADIUS

Stuart Ramsden has been named as Regional Director UK & Ireland for leading trade credit insurer Atradius. Stuart, who has been with the firm since 1991 succeeds Alun Sweeney who steps down from the role he has held for over 10 years at the end of June.

Stuart’s appointment is effective from 1st July 2020 and Atradius wishes him every success in the role. Having joined Atradius (then NCM) in 1991, Stuart has held a number of senior positions, including 10 years as Country Manager for Atradius Ireland. With over 20 years’ experience in the Credit Insurance industry and a proven business acumen, his appointment ensures a bright future for Atradius in UK & Ireland.

Whilst Alun Sweeney was expected to retire this summer, these long held plans have been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In particuarly, Alun has been very closely involved in working with the ABI and Government in developing the Trade Credit Insurance Support Scheme which was announced last week. Continuity is critical at this time and in the light of the exceptional circumstances the business is currently managing, Alun has agreed to remain with Atradius UK & Ireland until the autumn to continue to support the business and to provide technical advice as Atradius navigates forward through the Covid-19 crisis.

CETA

CETA are today announcing two new key appointments that will further accelerate our business plans:

Kevin Paterson, formerly Managing Director of Source Insurance, takes on the role of Director of Sales and Marketing. Kevin has more than 20 years’ financial services experience, spanning the mortgage adviser and IFA markets and general insurance. At Ceta he will be focusing on building and broadening relationships to include mortgage brokers and IFAs as well as insurance brokers.

“CETA is the only real specialist in online non-standard household insurance, and it’s great to get the opportunity to play a key role in spreading the word about that and helping to drive the business forward,” he said.

“They were the first to develop a non-standard household digital trading platform for multiple insurers, and their market-leading digital expertise is a real springboard for growth.

“Non-standard property insurance today accounts for almost 30% of the market so supporting brokers with a leading digital solution is very exciting.”

James O’Hara who was previously Head of Business Development at CETA is taking on the new role of

Head of Product Procurement and Insurer Relations. Whilst this was previously a part of James’s role in the business, the planned growth requires a full- time focus upon developing CETA’s panel of insurers and building long term relationships targeted firmly upon mutually profitable, sustainable growth driven through CETA’s digital platform and powerful data analytics

He said: “I’ve worked at CETA for 10 years which has given me great insight into its potential. I’m delighted to have a key role in continuing to maximise that potential and take the business to the next stage.

“That’s going to include multiple non-standard product rollouts on Infinity to broaden it beyond household – in the B2B space we’ll be looking at areas like liability, caravan and boat.”

These new appointments reflect CETA’s continuing drive to build its position as the leading online specialist in non-standard insurance.
