In the olden days a bloke called Nigel would often travel in his Vauxhall Vectra and conduct a detailed survey with his sturdy tripod, camera, Trebor mints and notebook. All that has changed, and now insurers can speed up large parts of the process after a typical flood or fire. Just point a smartphone at the site and start recording. Yep, that easy.
Software Solved is proud to announce the launch of its latest advancement in property survey technology after securing Innovate UK funding. SurveyorTech enables Insurance professionals to capture comprehensive property surveys via an iPad or iPhone in either 360 degree or flat image mode.
The ground-breaking technology now available through Software Solved is set to revolutionise the way in which property surveys are conducted and is particularly relevant in a post COVID-19 working environment.
Software Solved is also rapidly developing SurveyorTech Connect, an enhancement to SurveyorTech, with full funding awarded by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency. Innovate UK launched the Fast Start grant competition in April in response to the COVID-19 outbreak offering funding to fast-track the development of innovations borne out of the Coronavirus crisis.
Once development is complete, SurveyorTech Connect combined with SurveyorTech, will enable full surveys to be conducted remotely without the need to travel to premises offering a welcome solution to Brokers, Underwriters, Claims and Risk Consultants who are facing the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. With new social distancing and safety measures in place, the need for remote surveys has never been clearer. SurveyorTech Connect, with its live streaming functionality will allow Software Solved to rapidly respond to the increased need for remote surveying.
Connect funding comes from a £211 million government support package designed to drive forward business-led innovation and is part of a wider investment package of £1.25 billion for innovative UK businesses, announced by the Chancellor on 20 April 2020. Innovate UK received a record number of more than 8000 applications with investment finally being granted to a small number of those applicants.
Lindsay Lucas, Managing Director at Software Solved, said: “We are incredibly proud to have secured the support of Innovate UK. This is a real testament to the dedicated and talented team we have here at Software Solved who continue to deliver innovative solutions.
“This is a very exciting project for all of us at Software Solved. The need for surveys and technical risk management support for clients is increasing but the current climate makes traditional surveys more challenging than ever.
“SurveyorTech Connect will offer users the ability to conduct detailed surveys remotely which is critical under current restrictions. Businesses are facing unprecedented challenges, looking to new ways to operate and technology is certain to play a pivotal role in the future of operations across all sectors.”
Rob Faulkner, Insurance Practice Lead at Software Solved said: “The conversations I have had with a number of brokers, insurers and claims providers shows there is a significant demand for SurveyorTech Connect as it will enable them to re-commence advisory, surveying and loss adjusting services remotely. We have a number of organisations that have agreed to join a pilot of SurveyorTech Connect and in return for their support will receive a period of free usage. We currently have a limited number of pilot spaces remaining.”
