ThingCo’s Jonny Valentine Wins Young Insurer of The Year

Jonathon Valentine, CTO for ThingCo, the insurtech 100 business developing next generation telematics has been named Young Insurer of the Year in the Informa Tech Automotive Insurance Awards. IE magazine can also vouch that he’s a potential Top Gear stunt driver too, after attending a recent test day!

The award confirms Jonathon’s status as one of the world’s leading innovators in telematics insurance.  It also brings recognition to ThingCo for how it is driving real change in the car insurance market through new technologies such as Voice, to help telematics insurance reach its full market potential.

The Award was announced at the virtual Connected Car Insurance USA Conference, August 18-20, 2020 which brings together the automotive technology and the auto insurance industries.

Jonathon started ThingCo with Mike Brockman, CEO, in 2018. As CTO he has driven the creation of a range of video enabled telematics devices branded ‘Theo’ incorporating technology not available in some of the newest cars.  This is backed by a SMART FNOL process, utilising a low cost serverless platform that is a case study for Amazon Web Services.
