Old Mutual Upgrades and Chooses SSP Software

SSP is delighted to announce that Old Mutual, the largest insurer in the Zimbabwean territory, will
be extending its long-standing relationship of over 26 years and upgrading to the new SSP Insurance
Platform.

Old Mutual evaluated the market prior to making its selection to ensure that any new application
would provide the right level of support for its digital transformation programme. Of particular
importance was the ability to seamlessly integrate with third party providers to ensure that its
customers were able to receive the best possible service.

The SSP Insurance Platform was chosen as it is a cloud hosted solution and will ultimately allow
complete self-sufficiency when building new insurance products. Old Mutual will soon be developing
its own products with minimal assistance from SSP giving them the speed to market and agility that
are so important in today’s market. As the solution is hosted within the Amazon Web Services cloud,
it also benefits from the highest levels of reliability and security.

Fungura Shepherd, Managing Director for Old Mutual Insurance commented:

“Old Mutual had carried out a strong evaluation to ensure the software solution we chose provided all the features
required by the business – and more. The SSP Insurance Platform does that for us, we are now
excited to progress and grow the business further using the system, building multiple high-quality
products, including Motor and Household, which will benefit the market greatly. ”

Old Mutual strives to continue to drive growth within the Zimbabwean market, with business value
to provide and partake in agile innovation that makes a difference. This joint venture is in full
support of this ethos, deploying an economical and contemporary solution which transforms a
historic approach.

Leslie Muthen, African Territory Head at SSP said: “With Old Mutual having been customers of SSP
for many years now, it is inspiring to see that we are developing and becoming more digitally
intuitive alongside them. The SSP Insurance Platform will provide a feature-packed system, offering
innovative functions to allow for the development and launch of exciting new products into new
markets. The solution will also be hosted within the Amazon Web Services cloud, befitting from its
robust and reliable infrastructure and services.”
