The London based insurance company, GG Insurance, was launched in the UK in 2018 after seeing a requirement for specialist gaming solutions within the market. Following growing success they have recently extended their business overseas and have now opened a fully licensed office in America. As part of this expansion, GG Insurance Services have collaborated with IGDA – The International Game Developers Association, the world’s largest non-profit membership organization serving all individuals who create games.
Philip Wildman, GG Insurance Services director states: “Although we already have clients internationally, I am delighted to announce the recent opening of our new fully licenced office in Houston, Texas. This means we are now able to better assist our clients in the USA, with a wider range of options and more flexible international support from our local team. Also, we are excited to have officially joined the IGDA as a partner member. The support they already give the industry is invaluable, and we hope to complement this further by offering comprehensive protection to their members with our industry-specific insurance solutions.
I appreciate insurance is not always at the top of people’s agenda, but it is crucial that any games company is getting appropriate cover. This industry has specialist risks and needs that a standard policy often does not address. If you are considering it for the first time or have an existing policy elsewhere, we are here and happy to answer any questions & guide you through the process to ensure you and your business satisfy any contractual requirements and are fully protected.”
As well as being the leading gaming market in terms of revenue, the United States is also considered by many as the birthplace of gaming as we know it today. The US games market is not far behind China as the top market by gaming revenue, estimated at $36.921 million in 2020.
GG Insurance Services are part of the General & Medical Group who have over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, as well as direct links with Lloyd’s of London. Their policies have been designed especially for the games market and range from Game Developers Insurance, to cover for Esports teams.
