Honcho – the Durham-based fintech business who last year launched into the car insurance
market and recently launched their van insurance product, have been selected by Insurtech
NY, the largest insurtech community in the New York area, to join their 2020 accelerator
programme.
The programme aims to identify insurtech talent from across the sector, to connect the
most exciting insurtechs to the New York insurance ecosystem, and to improve access to
investment.
In a cohort that is largely US-based, Honcho is one of just two businesses representing the
UK within the Insurtech NY 2020 programme, a recognition on a global scale of the
innovation that Honcho’s unique reverse-auction marketplace model is bringing to the
insurance world, along with its global potential.
Talking about Honcho’s inclusion, CEO Gavin Sewell said:

Both of the UK-based insurtechs selected to join the programme – Honcho and Guardhog –
are investees of specialist insurtech investors Insurtech Gateway. Richard Chattock, CEO of
