Gauntlet Adds Acturis Quote & Buy Software

Appointed representative network principal, Gauntlet Group, has launched a new differentiator for its appointed representatives (ARs), announcing a major investment in an Acturis-backed quote-and-buy facility to be offered to every Gauntlet AR.

Gauntlet announced its new ‘Gauntlet Gateway’ online portal at its 2021 AR Conference, held in Harrogate.  Acturis’s Jason Battersby demonstrated the quote and buy system, whilst Gauntlet’s managing director, Roger Gaunt, highlighted how Gauntlet had invested in the facility on behalf of the dedicated local brokers within its AR network.

Any Gauntlet AR can now have the Gauntlet Gateway portal on their own website, enabling clients to access documents via secure log in and new prospects to purchase insurance policies direct from the portal, downloading policy documentation in one neat transaction.

The facility is not intended to replace the face-to-face work AR brokers conduct but to make it easy for Gauntlet’s ARs to benefit from e-trade, selling insurance in areas that do not require a more in-depth analysis of the risk and which, currently, they may not deem it worth pursuing, currently having no e-trade facility to which to direct enquiries. Gauntlet Gateway will, in this way, provide ARs with an ongoing additional income stream, which is currently untapped.  The technology will help also make the client management process an easy-to-operate one, with most processes icarried out by the Acturis software.

The software development work commissioned and paid for by Gauntlet, to help fuel the growth of its appointed representative partners, augments the Acturis facilities which Gauntlet ARs have already used to their advantage, via both desktop and mobile applications.

WTW & HISCOX SUPPORT

Gauntlet conference attendees also learned of the facilities and opportunities for growth available to them through Willis Towers Watson Networks (WTWN), with Gauntlet having secured a unique arrangement through which WTWN supports Gauntlet’s local brokers through training, mentoring and development tools, as well as offering access to unique schemes and global placement facilities and advice.

A presentation by Willis Towers Watson Networks’ Business Partner, Declan Murray.  Declan also highlighted the new one-to-one growth Focus on Growth mentoring programme, based on individual brokers’ sales data and the opportunities that reveals. Gauntlet appointed representatives are eligible for this through Gauntlet’s WTWN membership.

Insurer, Hiscox, presented further opportunities through which Gauntlet ARs can fuel their growth, highlighting some lesser-known policies that are typically extremely attractive to the insureds.  Hiscox was represented by York branch manager, Rob Messruther, Schemes Sales Executive, Paul Ross, Development Underwriter, Henry Tinworth and Sales Development Underwriter, Jill Evans.
