The Chartered Insurance Institute has urged members to make their voices heard by contributing to Shaping the future together before the consultation closes on 17 December 2021. Shaping the future together gives members the chance to share their views on the CII’s proposals for areas including the qualification framework, membership structure, professionalism, learning and assessment.
The CII is keen to have members’ input on how it can best equip them with the skills, knowledge, insight, and networking opportunities to thrive.
Analysis of the early consultation responses reveals some initial themes. Respondents have highlighted their wish for the CII to drive deeper engagement for the profession with the wider public, government and regulatory bodies. A recent CII online poll also revealed that the main challenges faced by insurance professionals today relate to skills and knowledge gaps (31%), closely followed by changing customer expectations (28%). One fifth (22%) of those polled cited fast changing technology as the main challenge, while another 18% cited fresh regulations.
Sian Fisher, CEO of the CII, said: “We are pleased to be receiving consultation responses, and encourage everyone to have their say on the proposals before the consultation closes on the 17 December. Our mission is to support the professional development of our 125,000 members worldwide and help everyone enhance their career potential.
“We know that the expectations of the clients our membership serves – and swift pace of technological developments – will continue to change in the months and years ahead. Just as with the pandemic, our profession will rise to the challenge.
“Going forward, we want to be by your side, helping you every step of the way.”
