OutSystems Works With JURNY on PAYG Car Product

OutSystems, today announced that JURNY, the pioneer in Pay-as-You-Go car insurance, used the OutSystems platform to create a personalised insurance product tailored to the miles driven by each individual customer.

The power and flexibility of the OutSystems platform enabled JURNY to create the customer-interface, customer dashboards, business rules and workflows that support onboarding, customer enablement, cost tracking and payment transactions, as well as the content management system.

Leveraging OutSystems as the CRM System enables proactive communications via email and SMS that can be customised for each individual customer. Conveniently, the customer support team works from the same interface as the customer, so all communications and transactions are transparent. Transparency ensures consistent service and builds confidence in an otherwise new way to use and pay for insurance.

Gareth More, CMO, JURNY said: “Technology is an industry disruptor, and in this case, OutSystems enabled us to realise our ambitions and create an industry first; car insurance tailored to the individual and provided on a truly Pay-as-You-Go model, which better suits the needs of millions of drivers than the one-size-fits-all model still primarily used today. OutSystems has enabled us to break free of the constraints of former insurance models, bringing with it a revolution that will enable the industry to better meet the needs of the next generation of customers who want to be in control of their insurance costs.”

The competitive value of personalised insurance for consumers cannot be realised through insurance products that are ‘one-size-fits-all’. Yet, development of personalised insurance products is complicated for insurers saddled with yesterday’s technology. The use of OutSystems enabled JURNY to break free and deliver an insurance product more aligned with the reality of consumers’ everyday life, and enabled two underwriting companies (AXA and Zurich) to leapfrog in the race to personalisation.

Willem van Enter, Vice President Europe, Middle-East & Africa, OutSystems, added: “The speed of change facilitated by OutSystems, helps liberate market disruptors like JURNY to create pioneering service offerings that meets the changing and individual needs of drivers today”. He added. “In an era defined by personalisation requirements shaped by need or desire, even established industries need to be more flexible in their offerings. JURNY has proved what can be achieved when unleashing the power and flexibility of a high-performance low-code development like OutSystems.”
