As many cities around the world look set to impose ULEZ/CAZ taxes or place LTN obstacles in the way of drivers, the subscription model could well expand as car ownership becomes an expensive proposition in urban areas. Maybe the future of mobility for many people is on-demand car hire by the day, or per trip? But that flexibility will need insurance on demand too of course. Here’s the word from Direct Line and Drive Fuze;
Churchill Expert, Direct Line Group’s flexible fleet insurance specialist, has partnered with vehicle subscription start-up www.drivefuze.com, to provide insurance for their newly launched fleet of subscription vehicles.
As consumer needs change, Drive Fuze aims to transform how people access vehicles, by providing an all-inclusive subscription service for customers who want a flexible, no hassle, mobility solution with one easy monthly payment. Vehicles are offered via a fully digital journey, on flexible terms, allowing swaps, extensions or cancellations to suit the customer’s needs.
The partnership will see Churchill Expert provide Drive Fuze with insurance for its fleet of subscription vehicles, allowing them to offer their customers a comprehensive subscription package including maintenance, insurance, tax and breakdown within one monthly payment.
Nicola Richmond, Head of Churchill Expert Flexible Fleet Partnerships, said:
“We are seeing that people are increasingly open to exploring more flexible ways of accessing a car, with subscription presenting a popular alternative. One of the key draws of subscription is the convenience of having insurance, maintenance, tax and breakdown included in the fixed monthly cost of the vehicle. Our partnership with Drive Fuze is a great opportunity to help meet the changing customer needs and ownership preferences of today. We are excited to be offering fleet insurance for Drive Fuze and look forward to growing this partnership in the future.”
James Birch, COO of Drive Fuze, said:
“The partnership with Churchill underpins our strategy of ensuring our customers are supported by a high touch concierge service for all the components of our subscription offering.”
