The Amazon Insurance Store has announced that Policy Expert – one of the UK’s leading home insurance providers – will become the fourth participating insurance partner for the store. Policy Expert joins Ageas, Co-op, and LV on the Amazon Insurance Store, which was launched in the UK in October 2022. It will be interesting to see if the marketplace approach on Amazon can work long term.
Each insurance partner has been carefully selected using a number of criteria including the ability to meet a standard level of cover, the time frames for claims handling and resolution, and delivering on Amazon’s high bar for customer service to give customers confidence in their purchase. More insurers will be added to the Amazon Insurance Store panel later this year.

All policies sold in the Amazon Insurance Store meet the Amazon Standard of Cover, which is the level of cover all insurers have agreed to start with when designing the policies that will be sold in the store. This means that customers can be assured that their policy will include cover for some of the most commonly made home insurance claims.

To purchase a home insurance policy through the Amazon Insurance Store, customers need an Amazon UK account. Customers are required to fill out a short questionnaire in order to request quotes. They can then compare the quotes that are provided and further personalise their policy. Post-purchase, customers can view their policies, change their payment method, and view renewal information on Amazon.co.uk. Customers who make a qualifying purchase of a home insurance policy through the Amazon Insurance Store will receive a £10 Amazon.co.uk gift card.
