Price Forbes has appointed Dan Nicholls to its energy leadership team, and Ray Spreadbury as Head of Renewables. Dan Nicholls has joined the business after 11 years at Miller, including four as Head of Onshore Energy. He has experience across midstream and downstream energy, power utility, and renewables, as well developing alternative risk transfer and parametric solutions for clients. Before joining Miller, Dan spent six years as an energy broker at Alesco.
EUROPCAR

Europcar Mobility Group UK has expanded its Insurance specialist team led by James Roberts, Head of Insurance Sales. The latest recruit is Jonathan Brownhill who has been appointed as Business Development Director.
With experience working across courtesy car, credit hire and repair solutions in the bodyshop space and service, warranty and accident management solutions in the dealership sector, Jonathan’s appointment gives insurers access to a wealth of market knowledge. As the sector faces continued pricing, customer acquisition and retention challenges alongside the requirements of the new Consumer Duty regulations, Jonathan will work with insurers to provide fit for purpose solutions.
SPECIALTY MGA

Specialty MGA UK, a managing general agent focused on providing additional capacity for specialty lines of businesses, has expanded its global expertise and reach with the appointment of Duncan Urquhart, as Senior Underwriter for Construction and Engineering.
Urquhart is a renowned insurance and reinsurance professional with over 40 years’ experience in the sector. Urquhart has spent most of his career in London, Hong Kong and Australia, where he has worked on the broking side. In Asia, he led the Willis Towers Watson Construction Practice based in Hong Kong and supported construction projects across the continent including in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai whilst in London he has run Marsh Construction and was responsible for some of the capital’s most prominent infrastructure projects.
ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL
Allianz Commercial has announced the appointment of four regional distribution managers covering the South, North, London, Midlands and the South West regions to ensure that brokers across the UK are fully supported within the market.
All four regional distribution managers will be responsible for overseeing the sales and distribution strategy for Allianz Commercial. They’ll be responsible for establishing long-term relationships with partner brokers and mutual customers through regular engagement and offering solutions that provide peace of mind for customers.

PURE INSURANCE
PURE Insurance has announced two new leadership appointments: Drew Saad has joined as Chief Underwriting Officer and Dea Malollari has been promoted to Chief Risk Officer.
- Drew will oversee PURE’s Underwriting and Product teams, bringing over 15 years of technical expertise in both personal and commercial lines. He previously held leadership roles at Allstate, Farmers Insurance and Zurich Insurance Group.
- Dea will be expanding her role to Chief Risk Officer while still retaining the responsibility of Chief Actuary. She will chair PURE’s Risk Steering Committee and serve as the liaison between PURE’s internal audit team and Tokio Marine Holdings’ risk management group.
The appointments follow Martin Leitch stepping into the role of CEO and Dave Logan to President in 2023. CEO Martin Leitch said, “we will focus on continuing to deliver greater value for our members, while ensuring the sustainability of our businesses, and Drew and Dea play pivotal roles in those objectives.”

HDI GLOBAL
Various changes announced today;
Dr Barbara Klimaszewski-Blettner and Dr Dirk Höring will join the Board of Management of HDI Global SE with effect from 1st of April 2024. Klimaszewski-Blettner will take over responsibility for the business in Germany as well as global Claims Management, Höring will be in charge as Chief Underwriting Officer for the Property, Engineering and Marine portfolios and HDI Risk Consulting.
Klimaszewski-Blettner is currently responsible for the German business as Managing Director. By optimising structures and processes, she has increased customer focus in Germany and is a driver of cultural transformation based on the HDI Global values “Together, Ownership and Performance”. Prior to this, she held various management positions at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Allianz Group.
The aim of bundling the global Claims Management at Management Board level is to increase the customer focus of the division, including the associated claims services, and to optimise processes worldwide. HDI Global provided more than EUR 6 billion in claims payments to customers last year.
Dirk Höring is a successful and highly experienced insurance executive and currently the Head of International Programmes with a total of around 5,000 international programmes. Previously, he was responsible as divisional head for pricing, analytics and global portfolio steering. He is also a member of the Executive Board of HDI Global Network AG, a globally operating reinsurer within HDI Global SE, where he is responsible for finance, re-insurance accounting, asset & liquidity management and risk management. Beside that he was a non-executive Board Director of HDI Global Insurance Company in the US. Before joining the Talanx Group, he worked as a consultant at McKinsey until 2014.
