The word from Alps as they move their motor book to AmTrust International;
Alps, a leading provider of insurance add-on policies, legal expenses, and claims solutions for intermediaries, has moved its entire motor book, under a full delegated authority agreement, to AmTrust International, an AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. multinational insurance division, offering niche solutions to businesses and their customers. The book includes standard motor protection, motor legal expenses, and the Alps Complete product including Vehicle Hire.
Under the agreement, Alps will have a direct binder with Amtrust, with Alps retaining complete control of all claims via its group law firm, Alps Legal. Utilising its proprietary claims software, Alps has delivered a 50% uptick in claims efficiency and, 13% reduction in its own costs of administering claims, plus improved the customer journey, returning a new and improved Trust Pilot rating of 4.7 stars and recovering an average of £1,700 per claim for Uninsured Losses and £2,700 in Personal Injury damages, with no deductions for policyholders.
Speaking about the move to AmTrust, Ian Micklewright, Managing Director at Alps commented: “This is a great decision for us and our customers, ensuring we deliver an even higher level of service thanks to the complete control we have over the end-to-end policyholder journey. It also demonstrates the strength of our proposition. AmTrust operates to the most robust levels of due diligence, and their support of our business demonstrates that we too operate at the highest levels of operational best practice.”
“We are delighted to support Alps with a wider product suite, including motor legal expenses and replacement vehicle. This strengthens our existing relationship, as we have previously backed their Roadside Assistance and Excess products,” said Bruce Whitmee, Chief Executive Officer, AmTrust Europe Ltd. “Alps’s significant investments in its IT and data channels allow us to continue delivering value to our customers and we look forward to supporting Alps as they start the next phase of their growth plan.”
Alps offers a broad suite of add-on covers including sole trader, commercial, landlord and family legal expenses; motor related add-ons including excess protect, tools in transit, vehicle replacement, road rescue; and property related add-ons including landlord excess protect and home emergency, key cover and second property legal expenses.
