HDI Global Will Roll Out GenAI on International Programmes

The latest from HDI Global who are starting to roll out AI across their International Programmes product line. Here’s the word;

HDI Global SE, one of the world’s leading industrial insurers, will deploy generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in future to further optimise its services for customers in the International Programmes segment. A successfully piloted proprietary AI solution will help HDI’s experts fulfil the complex requirements of global business even more efficiently and transparently going forward. At the same time, the company is consistently growing the GenAI know-how of its team members through systematic further training.

International Programmes are crucially important for globally operating corporate groups that need to protect their risks worldwide. Thanks to its own network with service capabilities in over 175 countries and more than 5,000 employees around the world, HDI Global is equipped with extensive expertise for realising these International Programmes. The insurer has more than 5,100 such programmes on its books and thus ranks among the industry leaders.
Under its International Programmes, HDI Global negotiates conditions on a centralised basis with customers and ensures consistent implementation across all geographies within the scope of application in accordance with local regulations. Customers benefit from uniform insurance standards and central management in due observance of local compliance requirements.

“Our long-standing leading expertise in the field and our own global network make us the ideal partner for multinational corporations operating in a time of global transformation”, explains Dr Dirk Höring, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board, responsible for Property Insurance, Engineering Insurance, Marine Insurance, HDI Risk. “We know the local legal circumstances and tax laws as well as the different regional underwriting practices and customs. Thanks to this expertise in International Programmes, we are able to offer seamless and risk-appropriate insurance protection for our multinational customers while taking special care to ensure worldwide compliance.”

Use of GenAI accelerates processes

With a view to further optimising customer service and responding even better to specific requirements, HDI Global will also be deploying generative artificial intelligence going forward. A specially developed AI solution draws on the company’s internal databases – continuously maintained by expert staff – containing country information and insurance provisions from thousands of local policy entries. This proprietary solution functions as a closed system and meets all data protection standards as well as business confidentiality requirements.

In day-to-day operations, the AI then supports HDI’s experts by providing automated suggested responses to concrete inquiries received from customers – these proposals encompass country-specific compliance standards, required documents and recommended process flows. This enables HDI Global to handle International Programmes for its customers even more efficiently and quickly.

“The benefits of generative AI in International Programmes are enormous. We are now in the implementation phase”, says Dr Thomas Kuhnt, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board (COO) whose scope of responsibility includes IT. “Our AI solution serves as a powerful co-pilot for our team members. All decisions and process controls always remain in human hands and under the responsibility of HDI experts. At the same time, our customers enjoy the benefits of even more agile and transparent support for their complex worldwide risks.”

HDI fosters GenAI know-how in its workforce

The roll-out of generative AI forms part of a comprehensive digitalisation and innovation strategy at HDI Global. The company continuously invests in technical solutions, further training activities and employee events such as this year’s Analytics Summer Festival in Hannover as it seeks to expand the know-how of its team members for delivery of outstanding customer service.

“It is only through the ongoing development and training of our people that we can systematically leverage the benefits of GenAI for our customers”, adds Kuhnt. “As an internationally positioned industrial insurer with a considerable affinity for digital solutions, we are making HDI Global a particularly attractive employer in the eyes of new talent while also promoting lifelong learning for our employees.”
