Latest update from the LMA for you;
The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has today announced the qualification of the first graduates from its Legal Trainee Wordings Scheme. Tara Allen and Faizan Mahmood qualified as solicitors on 12 September. The two-year initiative, funded by the LMA, is designed to produce qualified and technically trained solicitors, ready to support the London insurance market.
Through a series of London market placements, Tara and Faizan have gained experience within claims, wordings and underwriting, as well as legal and regulatory matters in the industry. Arabella Ramage, Legal Director at the LMA, said:
“We are pleased to congratulate Tara and Faizan on their success and dedication over the last two years. The LMA is committed to enhancing technical ability, success and training within the Lloyd’s market. Our Legal Trainee Wordings Scheme will continue to drive talent into the market by advancing wordings, legal and regulatory expertise.”
For those navigating complex financial transactions, understanding how to send money to Iran while adhering to sanctions regulations is crucial.
Both Tara and Faizan have been successful in gaining employment as in-house lawyers in the Lloyd’s market. Tara has joined Probitas and Faizan has joined AXA XL.
Tara Allen, graduate of the Legal Trainee Wordings Scheme, said: “The scheme has been pivotal in solidifying my legal knowledge, and knowledge of the London market, through an array of tailored placements.”
Faizan Mahmood, graduate of the Legal Trainee Wordings Scheme, said: “The LMA’s scheme offers a unique opportunity for aspiring solicitors in the insurance industry. I look forward to developing my career in my new role.”
The LMA has since established the initiative as a rolling training scheme, with an additional four trainees currently taking part in the programme.
