We usually save these feelgood Friday stories for… yeah, Friday. But it’s pouring down up North so we need the cheer up factor. There y’go;
Solicitors in Manchester swapped their suits for studs as part of a charity football tournament that saw nearly £2,000 raised for Shelter on Thursday (19 September). The fundraiser, organised by award-winning claims management company National Claims, saw TRUE Solicitors, Clear Law and National Accident Service Line (NASL) take to the pitch to support the charity’s ongoing work to resolve the nation’s social housing crisis. It’s National Claims’ second fundraiser for the housing charity, with close to £4,000 donated over the past two years.
Despite the funds raised going towards an incredibly important charity doing some unbelievable work, the tournament truly put the ‘fun’ in ‘fundraiser. The day was filled with footballing excellence and saw NASL taking home the champions trophy, beating out Clear Law in a repeat of last year’s final, to display proudly in their London office.
Azim Nobeebaccus, Regional Community Fundraiser at Shelter, said: “It’s the second time National Claims have hosted this fundraiser and we couldn’t be more grateful for the team’s unwavering support. Having a safe place to call home is a human right and, with help from the money raised, we will continue fighting for those who don’t have a voice.”
As one of the country’s leading claims management companies, National Claims understands the true scale of the social housing crisis and has been doing its part to not just help those suffering, but lobby for legislative change with MPs. National Claims prides itself on going above and beyond to support those in need and has even hosted a community event to advise on tenant rights and help those suffering get on the path to rightful compensation.
Daniel Brito, Managing Director at National Claims, said: “As the social housing crisis continues to plague families, and with temperatures dropping as we head into the colder winter months, Shelter’s work is so important.
“The success of our fundraisers wouldn’t be possible without the support of Shelter and our brilliant partners. While it’s fantastic to know how much this money will help, more still needs to be done to ensure social housing issues are a thing of the past.”
