The word from MAXIS GBN who have a new health toolkit for employers;
MAXIS Global Benefits Network (GBN) has today launched a new educational toolkit in partnership with Maven Clinic– the world’s largest virtual clinic for women’s and family health. The toolkit is a ready-made communications campaign, enabling multinationals to educate their people about the impacts of menopause and how to support those going through midlife health. This new service is available to MAXIS GBN’s multinational clients and aims to help them create a menopause-friendly work environment.
The launch of this new toolkit comes at the start of Menopause Awareness Month and ahead of World Menopause Day on 18 October.
Menopause, and supporting employees experiencing the symptoms of menopause, has been rising up the corporate agenda in recent years. And with large numbers of women speaking out about the impact of menopause symptoms on both their wellbeing and their careers – plus the clear statistics that highlight its impact on businesses – this is an issue that cannot be ignored.
Drawing on Maven’s vast experience, the new toolkit equips multinationals with everything they need to educate and support menopause and midlife in their workplace. It seeks to help employers create an inclusive, menopause-friendly environment so they can retain their most experienced female employees. The toolkit is also aimed at menopause allies, so everyone can be involved, no matter their gender.
The toolkit contains five weeks’ worth of materials and a facilitator’s guide, helping multinationals successfully run the educational campaign. The content focuses on the following key topics, and more:
demystifying menopause
how to be an ally
managing the physical symptoms of menopause
caring for mental health during menopause
continuing the discussion on menopause.
Dr Leena Johns, Chief Health & Wellness Officer at MAXIS GBN, said:
“As DE&I values continue to rise up the corporate agenda, it’s vital that multinational employers are well-equipped to really care for their people at all stages of life. We’re excited to be launching a toolkit in partnership with Maven that can help our clients support their people experiencing the symptoms of menopause and grow workplace inclusivity by guiding colleagues on how to be allies.
“With staggering statistics around the impacts of menopause on women and their careers, Menopause Awareness Month is the perfect time for our multinational clients to be thinking about how they can best support their people through this time and ensure they aren’t losing their most experienced and knowledgeable talent.”
Will Porteous, Chief Growth Officer at Maven, said: “With one in five members of the workforce impacted by menopause, the global community of women going through this journey is among the fastest growing cohorts in the workplace but remains the least supported and least understood.
“Education is a crucial first step in understanding the challenges faced by women experiencing the symptoms of menopause, both in their personal lives and at work. We are proud to work hand in hand with MAXIS GBN to equip best-in-class multinationals with resources that provide education and foster more supportive, age-inclusive and high-performing workplaces.”
MAXIS GBN works in partnership with over 300 multinational clients to deliver market-leading employee benefits risk management services and solutions. With approximately 140 local insurance partners with specialist capabilities in over 120 markets, MAXIS GBN’s local insurers currently cover over six million employees worldwide.
