The latest update from the Wiser Academy;
Wiser Academy, the award-winning provider of insurance training and development, is marking the second successful year of its Introduction to Insurance Bootcamp Programme, launched in 2023 to address the sector’s talent shortage. Designed for technical and frontline insurance professionals with less than two years’ experience, over the past year the programme has equipped 180 participants with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the industry.
The programme provides foundational knowledge in insurance alongside practical skills, expected behaviours, and guidance on how to build a successful career in the sector.
One recent attendee commented: “The two-day ‘Introduction to Insurance’ course was very well run. The course leaders, Sam Onions and David Buckle, were engaging and highly knowledgeable. They delivered the material in a digestible and well-paced manner. Highly recommended.” Another participant added, “I gained a lot from the course, which will help me in my current job role. The trainers made the sessions thoroughly enjoyable and interactive, and I would definitely recommend them.”
Wiser Academy is set to launch an expanded and improved 2025 Programme, with a portion of next year’s fees going to insurance charities.
Crescens George, CEO of Wiser Academy, said: “The talent crisis in insurance remains one of the biggest challenges we face as an industry. Our Bootcamp Programme has proven we can bring new talent into the fold and inspire the next generation of insurance professionals. We’re incredibly proud of the impact the programme has made so far, and we’re excited to keep expanding its reach.”
Wiser Academy’s Introduction to Insurance bootcamp sessions have a course fee of £85 and are delivered virtually over Microsoft Teams. Free placements for journalists are available.
