Some news from Tietoevry, who are making the most of AI tools;
With the help of large language models, Tietoevry Care’s software engineers are speeding up the delivery of new features and functionalities that enable health and social care providers across the Nordics to work more efficiently.
As a leader in AI and data-driven care software, Tietoevry Care places great emphasis on continuously improving its product development processes. The generative AI capabilities of Microsoft GitHub Copilot play a key role in achieving this.
Tietoevry Care’s developers use GitHub Copilot for code generation, optimization, localization and more. Tasks that used to take the team days or even weeks can now be completed in a fraction of the time. For example, creating complex database queries can now be done in just two hours – a time saving of 87%. Many coding tasks are being completed 50% faster.
“By utilizing generative AI, we’ve been able to increase our overall R&D productivity by more than 23% since October 2023. Greater efficiency in development translates into a range of benefits for our customers. AI helps our engineering teams to improve the performance and user experience of our products, as well as bring new features to market faster. It also supports in tailoring our solutions to meet specific customer needs,” says Priya Tandon, Head of Operational Excellence at Tietoevry Care.”
These efficiency gains are essential for the context in which Tietoevry Care’s customers operate. Across the Nordic countries, public healthcare systems and organizations are under pressure to do more with less. The demand for care is rising, yet healthcare budgets and workforces are often constrained. Care professionals need tools that allow for more efficiency, enabling them to focus more on patient care.
Security and privacy aspects are embedded at every stage of the development process to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Tietoevry Care also leverages GitHub Copilot to accelerate language localization across different Nordic markets. With many of the same products in use by customers in Sweden, Finland and Norway, this capability is useful in building local language user interfaces so that new features and software can be quickly adopted and scaled across the region.
“AI is essential in continuously improving the quality of our offering. Intelligent, adaptive, and efficient products lead to a better experience for both care professionals and patients,” says Tandon.
