Tietoevry Care, a leading software company in AI and data-driven health and social care, is taking part in a Nordic hackathon organized by Stockholm University, Karolinska Institute, and Health Data Sweden. The main hackathon event, scheduled for March 2025, aims to improve coordination and interoperability within healthcare systems for patients with multiple chronic conditions.

The goal of the Hackathon is to create and test innovative solutions, models, and standards for interoperability in electronic healthcare records, EHRs. Additionally, it aims to agree on and implement a common conceptual model for the transfer of information between digital consultation platforms, medical technologies and medical record systems. The work will be based on the following scenario: ’Coordinated health care and social care of multi-disease patients’.

Tietoevry Care makes Lifecare Open Platform available to participants

Lifecare Open Platform will be available for participants to build their ideas upon. Recently selected by one of the world’s most prominent university hospitals, the platform is based on open standards and is a catalyst for new innovations and incremental transformation in healthcare systems.

“We are delighted to partner in this hackathon and provide our expertise and solution, the Lifecare Open Platform for the participants. Innovation to enhance care and support for patients with multiple chronic conditions is a key priority. This initiative is an important step toward better coordination and information sharing in healthcare,” says Kari-Antti Kuosa, Head of Technology and Architecture, Tietoevry Care.

“This hackathon offers us a fantastic opportunity to develop innovative solutions that can support the entire care chain, from social care to health care, and offer real benefits for both healthcare professionals and patients,” continues Jahn Sundin, Product Manager Welfare Sweden at Tietoevry Care.

“We are very excited to have Tietoevry and other organizations involved in the upcoming hackathon, where we can demonstrate how an open platform can contribute to better coordinated care and support,” says Monica Winge, Project Manager for the hackathon at Health Data Sweden.

The hackathon began on Tuesday, Nov 19, 2024, with an introductory workshop. On January 21, 2025, a follow-up workshop will be held to discuss needs, requirements, and content for the hackathon. The hackathon itself will take place from March 18 to 20.
