HF, leading advisors to the insurance and commercial sectors, is launching its apprenticeship scheme for 2025 with 10 places open to new recruits. The apprenticeship scheme is now in its tenth year and is one of the few that enables school leavers to train to become a Paralegal on the job.
Law has historically been perceived as only accessible to those with law degrees from top universities. HF is determined to challenge that view and open up the profession to a more diverse demographic, and its apprenticeship schemes play a key part in that strategy. HF currently has 72 apprentices who are learning while earning, which includes a mix of Level 3 apprentices, graduate apprentices and solicitor apprentices.
The Level 3 Paralegal apprenticeship is a two-year course combining a hands-on approach with the academic knowledge required to be a successful Paralegal, without the cost of a degree. One day each week is dedicated to off-the-job study with the four remaining days in the office or remote working.
Successful applicants will be based from Manchester and Liverpool and will assist solicitors and fee earners with files by producing standard documentation, updating the HF’s database accordingly and directly communicating with third parties in a professional and effective way. As they progress, they have the opportunity to deal with a caseload of files and assist other solicitors, ensuring client satisfaction and efficient operations within the organisation.
Interested applicants should register by Friday 21 February. Full details are available here.
Jared Mallinson, Partner and Head of Counter Fraud “The apprenticeship schemes have been a valuable tool in growing our business, allowing us to widen our talent pool and recruit the best people from a wide range of academic routes. Everyone learns in different ways and it’s vital that we recognise that to allow us to offer the best talent for the job to our valued customers.
“We‘ve recruited dozens of successful apprentices over recent years who have all been an important resource and have added huge value to the services we offer. We operate a true meritocracy irrespective of the route that brings you to HF, and an apprenticeship can help to offer the best of both worlds, being paid while continuing professional and academic development.”
