Allianz Commits Over 500K to Grassroots Sport Support

As part of its commitment to investing in local sports clubs and communities, Allianz UK has donated more than half a million pounds to grassroots sport since the launch of its two funding programmes – the Allianz Sports Fund and the Allianz Future Fund.

The Allianz Future Fund, which launched in the summer of 2024, aims to make rugby accessible to as many people as possible and help young players become the stars of tomorrow. 87 grants have been awarded by the initiative so far, providing local grassroots rugby clubs across the UK with a total of £100,000.

Alistair Body, Stockwood Park Rugby Football Club U11 Coach and Community Liaison Officer, commented: “At Stockwood Park, we believe sport is a powerful tool for bringing communities together and creating equal opportunities for all. As a community rugby club, we are committed to providing access to sport for young people, helping them develop confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging. We are incredibly grateful to Allianz UK for their generous £3,000 grant, which will support our efforts to make rugby accessible to everyone, breaking down barriers and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has the chance to thrive.”

Since 2021, the Allianz Sports Fund has awarded £420,000 to a wide range of local sports clubs across the UK from wheelchair basketball to diving. The programme allows Allianz broker partners to nominate a local sport club or team, that takes part in an Olympic or Paralympic sport, for a donation between £500-£3,000. So far £340,000 has been awarded to broker-nominated clubs and a further £80,000 to employee-nominated clubs during an initiative to celebrate the Olympics and Paralympics partnership.

Carolyn Rich, director of brand, Allianz UK said: “We’re thrilled to be able to support so many amazing local sports clubs across the UK who are dedicated to making a difference in their local communities. As the Worldwide Insurance Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Movements, we are passionate about the power of sport and the important role that it plays within communities. We’re looking forward to working with our broker partners to support even more clubs throughout 2025.”

The Allianz Sports Fund is now open. The deadline for independent brokers to nominate clubs is Friday, 18 April 2025. For more information on how to get involved visit Allianz Sports Fund page.
