The news from Howden, as staff take to the skies for Maggie’s charity;
30 intrepid Howden UK&I colleagues completed a daredevil wingwalk, across two days, to raise vital funds for its UK charity partner, Maggie’s. Taking to the sky, above Cirencester, the group raised £32,000 to help Maggie’s provide vital services for people living with cancer.
Warren Dickson, CEO, Corporate & Commercial, Howden UK&I, said: “The spirit and courage that every Howden UK&I team member displayed to stand on top of the wing of a vintage biplane and soar high above the countryside at 100mph highlights the extraordinary group of colleagues I’m honoured to work with. We’re incredibly proud to support Maggie’s and our colleagues have collectively raised a phenomenal sum of money to help cancer centres up and down the UK continue to deliver the services that so many people and families rely on at a difficult time during their lives.”
Adam Feder, Head of Corporate Partnerships, Maggie’s, said: “Thank you so much to Howden UK&I for braving the wingwalk to raise an incredible amount for Maggie’s, which will have a huge impact on the lives of people with cancer and their families. I really enjoyed meeting people from Howden on the day at the event and seeing how committed everyone was to take on the challenge for Maggie’s”.
The wingwalk for Maggie’s was completed 12 months after the charity was announced as Howden’s UK charity partner. The two-year partnership has raised an incredible £489,000 so far. Maggie’s offers free emotional, practical, and social support to people with cancer and their friends and family via a network of centres across the UK and online.
