Here’s the latest from LIIBA, as they seek to offer support to those starting out in their broker careers;
The London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA) has announced the formation of a new Emerging Claims Committee (LECC) – an initiative designed to represent and support individuals in the early stages of their claims’ careers within the London insurance market.
The LECC has been created to provide the opportunity for emerging talent to provide input into the future direction of the claims function in the London market. The committee will engage with key issues across the industry, including market reform, claims process improvements, and technical claims considerations. It will also serve to promote broader market objectives such as education, collaboration, and talent development within the claims discipline.
Made up of a diverse range of members, the LECC has members with varying degrees of experience and expertise, across all lines of business and placement types – making it truly representative of the market. Up to 14 members in total will join the LECC, with all appointments being made following a request from LIIBA for members to nominate individuals.
The newly appointed committee leads are:
Chair: Jade Moore, Associate Director, Howden
Deputy Chair: Giuseppe Castiglione, Technical Director from Gallagher Re
The LECC secretariat is Amy Simmons from LIIBA who will play a vital role in connecting early career professionals through a variety of initiatives. These include fostering communication across peer groups via social media, participating in webinars and industry events, mentoring future committee members, and liaising with other market bodies and claims groups. The committee will also support the work of LIIBA’s existing claims committees and help promote claims as a career destination of choice within the London market.
Commenting on the formation of the LECC, LIIBA Chief Executive Christopher Croft said:
“The London market thrives on talent, and that talent must be nurtured from the start. The Emerging Claims Committee reflects our commitment to giving a voice to those at the beginning of their claims careers and ensuring their perspectives are included in market discussions. By building a diverse, representative and engaged community, we’re strengthening not only the claims function but the future of the London insurance market as a whole.”
