The latest broker sector feedback from DCL for you;

Brokers across the UK see strong progress in the commercial motor insurance sector, but also report a clear appetite for more flexibility and innovation from insurers, according to the latest Broker Barometer from Direct Commercial Limited (DCL).

The findings reveal that while 46% of brokers are satisfied with the breadth of commercial motor products on offer, 42% remain neutral, and 12% feel there is clear room for improvement.
When asked about additional features or cover options they would like to see, brokers cited more comprehensive fleet policies (64%) and camera and telematics-based policies (40%). Enhanced legal protection and cyber risk cover for connected vehicles were also highlighted as emerging priorities.
Flexibility remains a major factor in brokers’ placement decisions, with 81% rating mid-term adjustment capabilities as either “business critical” or “important.”

Joe Hantson, Deputy CEO of Direct Commercial, said:

“This feedback reinforces what we consistently hear from our broker partners: they value products that can adapt to the realities of operating a fleet. At DCL, responsiveness and robust claims handling are fundamental to our approach.
“Our goal is to support brokers and policyholders with a straightforward, effective system that reduces downtime and claim costs. Camatics is about control, not complexity – helping brokers and their clients manage risk more proactively.”
DCL’s Camatics is a camera-backed proposition designed to support early intervention following incidents. The system connects directly to DCL’s claims team, enabling faster responses and helping protect policyholders’ positions when claims arise.
