The word from Antares as they look back on a decade of growth;
Antares Group marked the 10th anniversary of its Singapore operations with a celebration attended by colleagues, clients, and partners, recognising a decade of growth, collaboration, and success in Asia.
Established in 2015, Antares Singapore began with a small team and an ambitious goal — to build a specialist Lloyd’s platform capable of delivering the same underwriting discipline and service excellence for which Antares is known for.
During Li Shan Yeo’s remarkable leadership, female leaders — most notably an underwriting team comprised of more than 80% women — have been instrumental in driving the company’s growth.
Speaking at the event, Li Shan Yeo, Antares Singapore CEO, said: “10 years ago, Antares launched its operations in Asia with a clear objective: to create a team of local underwriting professionals who align with the commitment to consistency and service. Rather than bringing in staff from abroad, we decided to ensure that our underwriters came from within the region.
“Most have been part of the team since we started in Singapore, and all have deep and wide-ranging experience in the Asian insurance market. This continuity, along with our extensive understanding of the market, has been key to our success.
Michael van der Straaten, CEO of Antares Group, reflected on the milestone:

Since its establishment, Antares Underwriting Asia, has grown steadily, expanding its suite of business lines to include Property, Casualty, Marine, Specialty, and Reinsurance. Under her leadership, the team has launched new specialist products, strengthened marine and energy capabilities, and delivered consistent profitability — a reflection of the company’s long-term vision and disciplined capital management.
Van der Straaten highlighted Li Shan’s leadership and the collaborative spirit that has driven the business forward:
