Thomas Carroll CEO Shortlisted For Award

The latest news from the Thomas Carroll Group;
Rhys Thomas, CEO of Thomas Carroll Group, has been shortlisted as Employee Owner of the Year at the UK Employee Ownership Awards.
The shortlisting comes as the independent insurance, risk and insurtech company celebrates its second year as an employee ownership trust (EOT).
The UK Employee Ownership Awards is run by eoa, the employee ownership association. It celebrates and recognises the achievements of businesses and people who drive effective employee ownership practices, who empower employee owners and put them at the forefront of their businesses.
Judged by former eoa winners as well as the CEO of the organisation James de le Vigne, the awards will take place at the end of November at the eoa’s annual conference.
Gareth Cotty, Chief Commercial Officer at Thomas Carroll Group, said how proud the whole Thomas Carroll team were to see Rhys recognised in this way: “As a second-generation family owner, Rhys led Thomas Carroll’s transition into employee ownership against the tide of our industry moving more and more into overseas ownership or private equity backed consolidators. I’m delighted that’s been recognised with this shortlisting.”
Rhys said of his shortlisting: “Although it is very flattering to receive a nomination for an award like this, our transition into employee ownership really was a team effort, so it feels very odd to be the one singled out.
“Our financial results for last year, our first full year operating as an EOT, saw the Group turnover increase by 7.1%, I believe this demonstrates the success of the strategic investment we made into our future as an employee-led organisation.”
