Changes at Aviva Corporate and Specialty

The new Centre of Excellence will create more than 200 roles in data analysis, software development, and quality assurance.

One role becomes two as Matt Washington leaves Aviva;

Matt Washington, MD, Global Corporate & Specialty, Aviva and CEO, Probitas, has decided to pursue opportunities outside of Aviva.

To ensure continuity and provide the dedicated focus required to accelerate Aviva’s long-term strategy for Global, Corporate & Specialty (GCS), Matt’s responsibilities have been restructured into two roles:

Antony Dodson, GCS Chief Underwriting Officer and Active Underwriter, will take on expanded accountability for underwriting performance and portfolio profitability across Aviva and Lloyd’s.

Matt Gordon has been appointed as GCS Chief Commercial Director, responsible for the end‑to‑end strategy for the combined business including transformation and operational performance.

Both roles will be effective from Monday 2 March, reporting into Jason Storah CEO, UK & Ireland, General Insurance.

Jason Storah will take on the Probitas CEO responsibilities on an interim basis.

Jason Storah said: “Matt leaves with my thanks for his contribution to our GCS business, including the integration of Probitas last year.

“I am delighted to announce the changes to Antony and Matt Gordon’s roles. Their combined experience positions us strongly to drive sustainable, profitable performance, while ensuring our platform and operations are set up for long‑term growth.

“As ever, our focus remains on continuing to deliver for our brokers and customers. GCS is in a strong position, and we are committed to continuing to build a market-leading dual stamp specialty insurance business.”
