The latest partnership will enable speedier repairs in Glasgow;
Admiral has launched a cobranded repair centre with Steer Automotive Group in Glasgow, supporting customers across a large portion of Scotland’s Central Belt, one of the UK’s busiest repair regions.
Steer brings industry-leading expertise to this strategic site, giving Admiral dedicated capacity to better support customers and understand repair trends in a key region.
The repair centre brings together Admiral’s customer-first approach with Steer’s high-quality repair expertise. As one of the UK’s leading EV insurers, the site also enhances support for our EV customers and drives innovation in repair techniques through advance.
It also reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and workforce development. Steer’s apprenticeship programme includes around 300 apprentices, over 10% female representation, and a retention rate of more than 90%, aligning with Admiral’s focus on inclusion and long-term talent growth.
As part of Steer’s national Academy, the site hosts apprentice Panel and Paint Technicians, with teams receiving advanced EV, sustainable‑repair, and customer‑experience training. This helps close industry skills gaps and keeps the centre future‑ready.
Scott McCammon, Head of Motor Repair at Admiral, commented:“Our co-branded repair centre gives Admiral dedicated repair capacity in a key market, helping us deliver great outcomes for our customers across a large portion of Scotland’s Central Belt. Workforce development is central to our collaboration with Steer. By investing in a repair network that creates opportunities for apprentices and technicians we’re helping to build long-term, skilled workforce for the automotive industry.”
Richard Thorogood, Chief Commercial Officer, Steer Automotive Group: “Our partnership with Admiral is founded on shared values of innovation, sustainability and exceptional customer care. Steer’s apprenticeship programme now supports around 300 apprentices, with more than 10% female representation and a retention rate above 90%. This new site strengthens our ability to deliver world-class repairs while continuing to invest in the skills and technology that will drive the future of our industry.”
