Accident Exchange Rebrands as AX, Looks for Growth in 2019

Accident Exchange today announced a group-wide rebrand.

After recording significant growth and a return to profitability in 2018, Accident Exchange and its subsidiary companies, DCML, In-Car Cleverness and APU have rebranded as AX.

“Last year was a significant year of change. We achieved strong growth within our core automotive landscape, firmly established ourselves within the insurance sector and as a result returned to profitability,” explains Lucy Woods, Chief Executive of AX. “We now have a sound footing for the future and the rebrand forms part of that strategy.”

Accident Exchange supports various partners across the automotive and insurance industries, delivering a suite of complementary products and services from credit hire to day insurance; from technology that integrates cutting-edge telematics, cameras and covert devices, from traditional fleet management software to bespoke management systems and data to fleet managers.

The Group will now adopt the brand name “AX” with two operating divisions created – AX Automotive and AX Innovation.

AX Automotive will focus on the growth of its successful Credit Hire business, broadening its market reach and continuing its unique focus on customer satisfaction, high quality service and frictionless process management for all its partners.

AX Innovation will concentrate on a growing suite of vehicle technology products (telematics and bespoke systems, asset recovery services, in-car cameras and day-insurance – all previously delivered by DCML and In-Car Cleverness), to create a business that provides innovative services to the automotive industry.

Mrs Woods added: “The two core pillars of exceptional customer care and innovative technologies will, naturally, remain front and centre of everything we do. However, by streamlining the brands as one we can deliver even greater agility, efficiency and revenue to all our partners and customers regardless of their individual business needs.

The group-wide rebrand is a new chapter for the business that was founded in 2002 to offer credit hire and accident management services to the franchised dealer market. Today, AX boasts partnerships with more than half of the UK’s top 50 dealer groups and enjoys established relationships under protocol agreements with several leading insurers, while helping to mitigate claim length and costs.

“We have already achieved a great deal,” Mrs Woods concluded. “We now intend to build on our foundations and continue to listen and work with our partners to bring even more intelligent and innovative services and products to them whilst developing our business to be sustainable in the evolving motor industry.”
