The Bspoke Group today has appointed Wayne Tonge Managing Director of Miramar Underwriting, subject to regulatory approval.
Wayne steps into the role alongside his position as Group Commercial Managing Director, and brings extensive experience and a strong track record in building and scaling specialist commercial propositions. His appointment marks a significant step in the continued evolution of Miramar as the Group sharpens its focus on delivering market-leading property solutions.
Wayne explained that he plans to strengthen the synergies between commercial standard and non-standard property business into a single, aligned proposition and provide more cohesive and flexible trading solutions for brokers – from individual transactions through to full scheme partnerships – all supported by strong underwriting expertise and capacity.
BPL

BPL, the world’s leading independent credit and political risk insurance (CPRI) broker, today announces the appointment of Emilia Levett as Chief Operating Officer.
Levett joins BPL from WTW, where she most recently served as Head of Strategy & Execution, Global Direct & Facultative, having previously held the position of Chief of Staff within the business. In these strategic roles, she focused on driving business growth through greater global connectivity and consistency, while championing the use of data and analytics to enhance client decision-making and execution.
In her role as BPL’s Chief Operating Officer, Emilia will work across the business globally, supporting the delivery of strategic priorities, including by harnessing data, AI and technology solutions, and helping to build out the broker’s high-performing teams.

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, is proud to announce that Nigel Teasdale, commercial director in its Insurance Services division, has been appointed to the Civil Justice Council, approved by the Lord Chancellor for a three-year term commencing 23rd January 2026.
The Civil Justice Council, established under the Civil Procedure Act 1997, is an advisory body that plays a vital statutory role in keeping the civil justice system under review. It brings together members of the judiciary, legal profession, civil service and wider stakeholders to advise on how the system can be made more accessible, fair and efficient. The Council is empowered to make proposals for reform and to undertake research to inform the development of civil justice policy.

DWF has also announced the appointment of David Abbott as Managing Partner of its Insurance Services division. David’s appointment will be effective from 1 May. He succeeds Matthew Doughty, who has continued to lead the division on an interim basis since his appointment as Group CEO on 1 August 2025.
David is a leading lawyer in the London insurance market, especially in the classes of reinsurance, political risk, political violence, trade credit and energy. He has served on a number of market bodies such as the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) Covid response group and the LMA reinsurance claims group. He is general counsel to the International Association of Claims Professionals, the organisation for heads of claims and other leading claims professionals.
NORTON ROSE FULBRIGHT

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is pleased to announce that Mandip Singh Sagoo has joined the firm as an insurance disputes partner in London.
Mandip joins from Clyde & Co, where he focused on advising insurers on complex, multi‑jurisdictional notifications and claims, in financial lines, D&O and W&I. Mandip’s practice centres on supporting insurers on coverage for claims that involve international civil and criminal disputes and regulatory investigations, including matters involving the US SEC and DOJ, as well as the UK SFO and FRC, across a wide range of insureds globally.
He has a long‑standing reputation in both the London and international insurance markets in financial institutions and D&O, and is one of a small number of lawyers recognised for their deep experience advising on high‑value, high‑profile claims for leading W&I insurers.

Spotlite Claims, the specialist TV, Film and Entertainment loss adjuster, has promoted Timothy Adams to Associate Director, recognising his significant contribution to the business since joining in 2025.
Adams joined Spotlite Claims last year as a highly respected adjuster with close to a decade of experience in film, television, contingency and sport, bringing with him a strong track record of managing complex and sensitive claims.
In his new role, Adams will continue to focus on property and business interruption claims within the film and television industry, supporting specialist brokers and insurers operating in this complex and fast-moving market. His deep understanding of production risk and claims dynamics is helping to deliver efficient and commercially focused outcomes for clients.

ACIS has appointed Rob Curley as Business Development Director, further strengthening its management team as the business continues to expand its presence across the UK accident repair sector.
Rob joins ACIS from Gildeas, where he held the role of Business Development Director, overseeing a network of 300 repairers. In his new position, he will play a key role within the senior management team, leading the strategic direction of the business and driving sustainable growth. He will also focus on building and enhancing relationships with work providers and insurance companies.

Colin Kirkpatrick has been appointed as UK Healthcare Leader, Lockton Europe, effective 21 September 2026.
Colin will be based in London and will join Lockton’s Retail division with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, insurance and broking. Colin is currently Director, Insurance and Partnerships at the Medical Protection Society. He has spent over a decade in international leadership roles, including in Hong Kong, Malaysia, P.R. China and in the UAE. Colin’s depth of experience and global perspectives will deliver diverse counsel for Lockton’s UK healthcare clients.

Parker joins with more than 22 years of experience in the engineering and construction insurance sector. He most recently served as head of construction at Markel UK and, prior to that, spent 19 years at HSB Engineering Insurance, where he held a number of senior leadership roles including head of digital trading. Specialty insurance managing general agent (MGA) Fiducia has announced two new appointments as part of its continuing expansion strategy across UK, EU and international markets.
David Rubin has joined the Leeds-based MGA as assistant underwriter, whilst Joanne Brady has been hired in the finance team as credit controller.
Fiducia specialises in insurance for marine cargo, freight liability, engineering, marine equipment and fine art and specie alongside excess of loss and terrorism covers. The company, which was established in 2016, is backed by certain underwriters at Lloyd’s and other insurers.
As an assistant underwriter, David is supporting Fiducia’s underwriting team across its specialist product lines and ensures efficient policy administration for broker partners.
This includes assisting with policy renewal invitations and confirmations, issuing new business documentation and preparing management information reports.
Credit controller Joanne is an experienced finance and customer resolution professional. She is supporting the premium collection process and broker account queries, maintaining strong service levels for broker partners.
CII
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Group has today (Friday 1 May) announced the appointment of two new Executive Directors, further strengthening its leadership team. Ben Turner has been appointed Executive Director, Member Engagement, joining with immediate effect, and Will Holt will join as Executive Director, Learning, from 3 August.
These senior appointments mark an important step forward for the CII Group as it continues to enhance the value it delivers to members. The role of Executive Director, Member Engagement and Learning was previously held by Gill White, who retired from the CII at the end of 2025.
Ben Turner has been promoted from his previous role as Director of Engagement Strategy. He is a membership professional and a firm advocate for institutes and their societal benefit. Over the past 15 years, he has held senior leadership roles within professional bodies, managing operations ranging from 5,000 members to 125,000 members, across a range of sectors including IT, Sales & Marketing.
Will Holt has a strong track record in business transformation and professional development. He will join the CII from his current role as Managing Director of Education and Training at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He previously held positions of Director of Entrepreneurship and New Revenues and Dean of Pearson Business School, at Pearson College, London.

Gueneret joins Liberty from Aon France where she was global accounts director & client director and a member of the executive committee. During her 17-year tenure at Aon she established extensive technical knowledge across financial, liability and P&C lines and brings extensive experience of large multinational clients. Gueneret brings strong commercial insight and will be responsible for growing the French market for Liberty.
