Antares Global has established Scorpius MGA, led by CEO Ian Morris, as a facilitator of MGA business, combining access to capacity, services and oversight within a single platform.
Scorpius gives Antares greater flexibility in how it supports brokers, underwriting partners and customers, providing centralised operational oversight and governance, ensuring MGAs are onboarded in a controlled, disciplined way. MGA partners can also access key services through Antares, including pricing, modelling, and exposure management.
The platform builds on Antares’ longstanding experience of working with MGAs across its UK insurance company, Lloyd’s and reinsurance platforms. Scorpius’ primary focus is to connect profitable MGA business with underwriting capacity from Antares Insurance Company, broadening Antares’ distribution, deepening its presence in specialist and retail segments, and bringing products to market more efficiently.
Scorpius supports Antares’ strategic objective of expanding distribution in the UK and selected international markets through partnerships with organisations and individuals with proven track records. It provides an additional route to market alongside the group’s existing underwriting businesses, helping Antares reach attractive customer segments through specialist partners while maintaining disciplined underwriting and strong oversight.
Crucially, unlike many traditional MGA platforms, Scorpius is not constrained to a single source of capacity. Where business falls outside Antares’ underwriting appetite, Scorpius can facilitate placement with third-party capacity, ensuring high-quality opportunities are placed successfully.
